What’s special about this resort
Take your family on a vacation they’ll never forget at Paradisus Playa del Carmen. There are plenty of arts and crafts, games, and shows for every age to enjoy (from tots to teens!). While the kids are busy splashing around at the water park, adults can enjoy a drink at the swim-up bar. It’s a win-win for families.
The all-inclusive package includes unlimited food and drinks from all restaurants and bars, access to three pools, and use of the fitness center. The program for toddlers, Kids Club, and Teen Zone are all included in the package, but evening babysitting services cost extra.

What to do
Enjoy the morning breeze while kayaking over the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Then hop into a casual game of beach volleyball. If you’re a bit of a newbie, friendly staff members can help you get the hang of it.
The kiddos have lots to stay busy with, too. From pottery and painting to exciting magic shows and treasure hunts, there’s no end to the fun! The water park with five slides and a dump bucket is also a hit with the younger guests.
When the sun goes down (and the pools are closed), you and your family can still have a great time enjoying the evening entertainment. Mariachi bands and Mayan shows are a beautiful cultural display to watch, while themed family nights are a fun way to get to know the other guests.
What to eat
Even the pickiest of eaters will find something to love at the 13 restaurants available to guests. You should note some restaurants are located at the adults-only neighboring sister property. Date night, anyone?
Break out the chopsticks and dig into traditional Asian dishes and fresh sushi rolls at Bana. Treat yourself to warm bread rolls and crispy calamari at Capella, the Italian restaurant. For a hearty meal of BBQ and cornbread, be sure to visit The Market. Get the tastiest street tacos at Blue Agave (book this one in advance since it fills up quickly!).
You can also stop by Naos, the international buffet, for whatever you’re in the mood for throughout the day. And if you’re looking for a drink, you’ll find plenty of options at the resort. With 9 different bars, you won’t have to go looking for long. For a party vibe, head to Red Lounge for live DJ sessions. For relaxing live music, you’ll want to go to either the North or South Avenue Bar.
Room Guide
All rooms at Paradisus Playa del Carmen are modern and comfortable, with a notable upgrade for the Nikté class – keep this in mind as you make your decision. It’s also worth noting that all rooms technically have a garden or pool view here; the only way to get a true ocean view is by going for the Presidential Suite (and even it is considered Garden View). Even so, accommodations are luxurious and highly rated.
Roulette Rooms & Junior Suites: While advertised separately, these are essentially the same room, with about 624 square feet of space and one king or two double beds. There’s a lounge with a tropical-style sofa, rain shower, and bathtub, and a furnished terrace in these rooms.
Suites & Master Suites: These add more than a separate living room to your stay, with jacuzzis on the balconies to enjoy the water without ever leaving the comfort of your space. Note that Suites have two double beds and slightly less space than Master Suites, which have king beds and more room. Master Suites can also come with two bedrooms.
Nikté Rooms & Suites: Nikté is the upgraded experience at Paradisus Playa del Carmen. The room types above, plus a Swim-Up category with direct pool access from the terrace, can be upgraded to include more sophisticated and stylish decor, access to the Water Ritual at YHI Spa, and dinner at Sal restaurant.
Nikté Presidential Suite: The resort’s top suite has a separate bedroom, lounge area, and dining room, along with an oversized balcony, including a hot tub. Airport transfers are included with this suite, as is everything in the Nikté experience.
Special Experiences
One of the simplest ways to upgrade your stay with several special experiences is to book a Nikté room, as noted above. Along with placement in the resort’s nicest rooms, guests enjoy dinner at the Sal restaurant in their package, access to the Water Ritual at YHI Spa, in-room video consoles and movies, and an exclusive lounge with drinks and snacks. Plus, a personal Concierge Service will take care of anything else you may want to arrange.
Special activities hosted by the resort include Cuban cigar-making classes, cocktail mixology lessons, and couples massage classes. Since the kids probably won’t enjoy any of those, parents can set them up for a fun day at The Kidsdom, where they can take part in all kinds of activities and enjoy the on-site waterpark.
Evening shows finish every day off just right. Mariachi music, traditional dancing, and Mayan performances are some things to look forward to after a fun day in the sun.
