What to do
Soak up the sun on the sandy shores of Playa Parasio. Work on your tan and enjoy a drink (or two) while listening to the ocean waves. Toss a volleyball around or borrow some snorkeling gear to catch glimpses of fish and other colorful marine life. You can even rent a catamaran for an hour and explore the sea that way!
You can also take your pick from three refreshing pools located on-site. For good times and daily activities, you’ll want to hang around the infinity pool. Looking for a quiet moment of solitude? Head to the relaxation pool or heated spa pool.
If you’re looking for enrichment, you’ll find it here. You can learn something new by taking a cooking or dancing lesson. You can try out archery or go wine tasting. The resort offers some great golf perks too, with two rounds of golf for free at the nearby 18 hole golf course (included with a minimum stay of five nights).
Unwind at the luxurious spa that looks like it’s fit for royalty – with large columns and Turkish and Roman baths. Choose from a long list of treatments or book a special oceanside couples massage (additional fees apply).
What to eat
Eat to your heart’s – and stomach’s – content at the Bella Vista buffet. An assortment of breads, deli meats, fresh fruits, and even a chocolate fountain are readily available on a daily basis.
While you’re taking a break from the beach or pool, why not stop at Toni’s Surf and Turf Grill? There’s lobster and mussels for seafood lovers and good ol’ mac and cheese and steak for those who stick to American food. If you’re more of an adventurous eater, be sure to reserve a table at L’atelier, the gourmet French restaurant. You can try tantalizing dishes from duck confit to coconut salad.
Other notable dining options include Japanese cuisine at Haiku and Italian cuisine at Venicia Wine Cellar. Between six restaurants and six bars (including a health bar with smoothies and teas), there’s something here for every palate.
Room Guide
All rooms at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso are called suites, so keep that in mind when browsing so as not to think standard categories aren’t available. Most room categories are of the same size – so if you want extra space, look to the Corner and Penthouse Suites or Romance Villas.
Garden & Pool Suites: Entry-level rooms offer views of the lush gardens or beautiful pools of the Grand Paraiso resort community. They offer 646 square feet with two double beds or one king, whirlpool bathtubs, and furnished balconies. A high-floor category is also available.
Ocean Front Butler Suites: Guests who want to see the Caribbean Sea from their balcony also get butler service for things like luggage unpacking and vacation planning. With the same size and bedding options as the above types, these rooms are seconds from the sand. You can also choose a Panoramic version to be on the highest floors. Corner Ocean Front Suites have hot tubs on their oversized balconies and slightly more floor space.
Romance Villas: To take it up more than one notch, go for one of these villas set back in a private, more remote location in the resort. The over-2,000-square-foot villas have their own swimming pools and luxurious terraces. Each villa has a king bed, but a second one can be added for larger parties.
Penthouse Suite: With the most space of all at over 2,500 square feet, the Penthouse is the ultimate escape for guests in search of nothing less than the oceanfront best. Besides the luxuriously furnished indoor space, the oversized balcony has a jacuzzi tub, hammock, and sweeping sea views.
Special Experiences
Being an adults-only hotel, Iberostar Grand Paraiso focuses its experience on relaxation and romance. There are three distinct swimming pool experiences on property, including a saltwater infinity pool with a swim-up bar and music, a quiet and more secluded freshwater pool, and a covered and heated spa pool with jets. Guests can choose the one that suits their type of vacation the most.
The spa also offers a renowned thalassotherapy circuit with unique Turkish and Roman Baths. Massages can take place on the beach as well.
Guests have easy access to several special off-property attractions despite being in a quieter part of the Riviera Maya. Dolphin Discovery Playa del Carmen is just 15 minutes away for those who want to get up close with sea life, and Cenote Tula is even closer for those who want to see the amazing natural features of the Yucatán Peninsula.
