What to do
Spend your days on the spectacular sun soaked beach and let the warm turquoise waters beckon you in for a little afternoon dip. If poolside lounging with a drink in hand is more of your thing, you’ll still get to enjoy incredible views of the ocean from the infinity pool. Drop in on one of the daily aqua aerobic sessions for some fun and easygoing exercise.
There’s quite a range of low key activities that are on par with the resort’s overall relaxed atmosphere. Brush up on your Spanish or get creative in a painting class. You can even learn how to make sushi or concoct your favorite drinks.
Visit the spa for some self care and indulge in a soothing massage. You can even book a poolside facial so you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your pool lounger (extra fee). Speaking of self care, practice some meditative yoga at the fitness center or get those endorphins flowing during a game of tennis.
What to eat
Six international restaurants serve everything from traditional Mexican dishes to exotic Asian flavors. You’ll also have three different bars to visit, but keep in mind only one remains open past midnight.
Start the day off strong with the most important meal of the day at Spices. Dig into an omelet made just the way you like it or savor the zesty flavors of a chilaquiles dish.
For a romantic evening that’ll make you feel like you’re in the heart of Italy, book a table at Palazzo. Carpaccio, fresh pastas, garlic bread, salads, fabulous wine pairings… What’s not to love about that?
Get a steak at The Grill or sample the many fresh sushi rolls at AZIA. If you’re a foodie, you need to reserve a spot at the Chef’s Table. This unique experience allows you to try inventive menu items while interacting with the chef (extra fee).

Ocean View & Honeymoon Suites: These suites are spread over two stories and nearly 1300 square feet. There’s a living and dining room on the lower level, along with a private balcony, and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs with its own furnished terrace that includes a hammock.
Presidential Suite: The most exclusive room in the resort has over 1600 square feet of space facing the beach from an upper level. Its main draw is its oversized terrace with a hammock and hot tub, plus luxurious furnishing inside as well.
Special Experiences
Besides the six stunning swimming pools and white-sand beach at the Royal Hideaway Playacar, guests can partake in a number of special activities. The resort has a fun entertainment program that includes classes to learn some very unique things: Oaxacan art, tequila tasting, sushi making, and mixology are just a few.
There’s even a full event venue on-site, the Club Royale Theater, that hosts live shows and performances most nights. Allegria Bar offers live music in the evenings to enjoy with a cocktail.
Sporty guests can take advantage of the on-property dive center that rents equipment and organizes group dives to some of the area’s best wrecks and reefs. Certification is also a possibility for those who want to become divers.
