What to do
Immerse yourself in the dreamy jungle and Caribbean beach paradise. Take a stroll on the nature trails and delight in wildlife sightings – birds, coati, and monkeys are all known to roam around the resort! Learn about the diverse flora and fauna on an eco tour and then explore the on-site cenote.
From kayaking to snorkeling, there’s no shortage of things to do on the beach. Feeling adventurous? Visit the resort’s dive center to book an exciting diving excursion (additional fees apply).
While the kids are busy at the Rosewood Explorers program, pamper yourself at the luxurious spa that’s located on a private on-site island (services are an extra cost). If you don’t have a chance to visit the spa, no worries. You can enjoy incredible jungle, ocean, or lagoon views from the comfort of your private heated plunge pool.
What to eat
Get a table at Casa Del Lago for a continental breakfast and choose from a gorgeous spread of meats, cheeses, and fruits. Or opt for a traditional Mexican breakfast like spicy chilaquiles or classic huevos rancheros.
Punta Bonita is an oceanfront lunch spot where you can enjoy fresh ceviche and the catch of the day in a casual setting. For a chic lunch break without kids, head to the adults-only Aqui Me Quedo and indulge in shrimp tacos and frozen cocktails.
The Chef’s Garden is a unique culinary experience where you can eat at communal tables alongside Rosewood staff members, a demonstration of Mexican hospitality. Complete with live music, open-flame cooking techniques, and fresh herbs straight from the garden, this multi-course dining experience will be the highlight of your stay.
Other dinner options include a seafood restaurant (Agave Azul), a casual bar (Zapote), and a colorful cantina (La Fondita).
Room Guide
Rosewood has a reputation of quality that competes with the best of the best in luxury resorts, and the rooms at the Rosewood Mayakoba certainly contribute to that. There are just 129 suites and residences at this expansive resort, each of which goes far beyond the standard.
Lagoon, Ocean View, and Beachfront Suites: These overlook the lagoons and lush mangroves, the sparkling sea, and the white sand of Mayakoba Beach, respectively. They vary in size, but you can expect a minimum of 779 square feet, with many suites well over a thousand. All of them have private plunge pools on secluded terraces.
Signature Suites: The huge abundance of space in these suites is probably only appropriate for large parties, as they can accommodate 8 to 10 guests in 3 to 6 bedrooms. The swimming pools in these suites are way too large to be called “plunge pools.”
Lagoon & Beachfront Villas: Similar to the Signature Suites, these massive accommodations host up to 6 bedrooms; these are individual, privately-owned residences rather than hotel suites. They capitalize on seamless indoor-outdoor harmony and a level of luxury that most people couldn’t even dream up in their imagination.
Special Experiences
It would be difficult to find something about the Rosewood Mayakoba that’s not a special experience. Staying in any of its massive suites, with features like private swimming pools, is pretty exclusive already. But, for good practice, we’ll name a few extra great things about it.
Sense, A Rosewood Spa, is on its own private island among the freshwater lagoons, for example. Private Wellness Suites and specialized Wellness Experiences on this island take luxury relaxation to a new level.
Plus, the Mayakoba resort community is one of the most renowned in all of the Riviera Maya. Visit its exotic cenote, called Cenote Burrodromo, on a guided tour to see one of the most famous natural features of the Yucatan Peninsula; wander through the El Pueblito replica of a Mexican town plaza to immerse yourself in culture and history.
