What’s Special About This Resort
For families who come to Cozumel to enjoy the tropical climate, the white-sand beach, and the warm waters, Sunscape Sabor is worth considering. While the resort sits a 20-minute drive from town, if you like the beach and don’t mind staying on resort most of the time, you’ll find plenty to do here. This all-inclusive resort offers kids’ and teens clubs (think foam parties and outdoor trampolines), plenty of kayaks, snorkeling equipment, and other watersports gear to borrow, two swimming pools, a private white-sand beach, a spa and fitness center, and a pier for easy scuba diving.
We want to make note that currently, there are 3 resorts attached at this location, Dreams Cozumel, Secrets Aura, and Sunscape Sabor. All seem to have issues at the current time with room quality, restaurant availability, and maintenance. However, these hotels are all on the largest strip of nice sand private beach on Cozumel, so we felt we needed to include them in our current guide. Dreams is the most recent refurbished area of these joined resorts, but we have reviewed Sunscape Sabor because of its better kids’ and teen clubs, and it has the fitness center and spa on site.

What to Do
Sunscape Sabor is all about the sunny outdoors, providing ample activities on land and in the water. Family fun includes beach volleyball, ping pong, and watersports. Or, adults can enjoy some relaxing pool time, while the kids and teens attend their own activities at separate clubs. The Explorer’s Club for Kids is for ages 3-12 and offers video games, crafts, sand-castle competitions, theater productions, and a camping adventure on the beach.
The Core Zone Teens Club is for ages 13-17 and offers daily activities, sports, and games.
The resort offers two swimming pools, and a scuba pool just for lessons. There is beach volleyball, snorkeling, kayaking, catamaran sailing, and paddle boarding all included.
Even after sundown, there’s always something happening, with nightly entertainment and live musical performances.
The Spa by Pevonia offers treatment rooms for singles and couples, locally inspired spa treatments, facials, aromatherapy, a full-service beauty salon, a hydrotherapy circuit, and all-natural products from Pevonia.
The fitness center features treadmills, free and universal weights, exercise bikes, elliptical machines, aqua aerobics, yoga mats, exercise balls, and more. But be aware the fitness center is shared between the 2 other adjacent resorts, so it can get busy.
The staff is happy to arrange excursions to local archaeological sites and eco-parks on the island and within Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
What to Eat & Drink
Sunscape Sabor has 2 restaurants, with some casual daytime dining options as well. There are kid favorites on the menu, too.
El Patio offers Mexican-style cuisine and traditional favorites with a local ambiance. Sunnyside Grill offers grilled specialties and late-night bites. The food truck, Snack Machine, features a light menu with burgers, hot dogs, fries, quesadillas, and nachos.
Lively bars and lounges, including the Starboard Lobby Bar and the oceanview Tortuga Bar, offer creative cocktails and mocktails.
Special romantic dining experiences can be arranged for honeymoons, wedding anniversaries, or simply a memorable evening. A secluded private dinner for two includes a delicious menu served at one of several appointed spots within the resort.

Special Experiences
The concierge staff at Sunscape Sabor Cozumel are happy to arrange for on- and off-island pursuits that celebrate the historical sites and culture of Mexico. A few favorites are:
The ancient Mayan city, Chichen Itza a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you can discover the towering Temple of Kukulcan (El Castillo), the Ball Court, the Observatory, and the Temple of Warriors.
Discover the ancient Mayan walled city of Tulum, the only ruins facing the Caribbean Sea. Explore the Temple of Paintings, the Temple of the Descending God, and the iconic El Castillo lighthouse, then cool off at the white-sand beach with a swim on one of Tulum’s picturesque beaches.
The cenote experience is a must when visiting the Yucatan Peninsula and nearby islands. Day tours include visits to several of these freshwater sinkholes over the course of a few hours, including the chance to zipline above one, kayak in another, and rappel down into a cavernous cenote.
Plenty more options for excursions are available, including catamaran sailing to Isla Mujeres, ATV tours, and days at exciting local eco-parks.
The all-inclusive package at Sunscape Saboor comes with unlimited dining and drinks, with a la carte restaurants and kid menus, plus both international and domestic spirits, juices, and soft drinks. With the all-inclusive plan, you will have access to kids’ and teen clubs, beach volleyball, and a wide range of non-motorized watersport equipment, including snorkel gear, kayaks, paddle boards, and sailboats.
The resort offers a variety of activities, amenities, and offers, you can find out more here.
