What’s Special About This Resort
When visiting Cozumel, you are coming to have fun in the sun, lounge poolside or on the beach, scuba dive, and snorkel in some of the best coral reefs in the world. Secrets Aura Cozumel Adults Only All Inclusive offers sandy beaches, access to coral reefs, an on-site PADI dive center and pier, and fabulous sunset views.
There are 3 Hyatt affiliate resorts at this location, Dreams Cozumel, Secrets Aura, and Sunscape Sabor. However, these hotels are all on the largest strip of nice sand private beach on Cozumel. Dreams is the most recent refurbished area of these joined resorts.
The Unlimited-Luxury experience includes unlimited dining and drinks, including top-shelf selections and all tips and taxes. What to Do
Secrets Aura Cozumel has plenty of activities for every couple, whether you want a relaxing vacation on the beach, heading out for a snorkel from your paddle board or kayak, joining a party at the pool, or scuba diving in coral reefs.
You can choose how active or how relaxing your vacation should be. Activities that are available with your stay include tennis, paddle boarding, kayaking, water volleyball, baby turtle observations, fishing, water aerobics, a fitness center, bike tours, a game room, tequila tastings, Mexican bingo, karaoke, mojito-making classes, Mayan dinner, and fire dancing on the beach to name a few. In addition to all the fun activities you can have during the day, they also have live nightly entertainment, live musical performances, themed nights, and beach parties.
Cozumel’s highlight is exploring the world’s second-largest coral reef system, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System. Secrets Aura Cozumel helps you to do that with scuba lessons and an onsite PADI dive center. For those nervous about diving, you can also snorkel right off the beach, where you can see numerous colorful fishes. For those who can’t get enough water, there are also three pools; an infinity pool, a Lazy river, an outdoor hot tub, and a swim-up bar pool.
The relaxing side of your stay could include an appointment at the Secrets Spa by Pevonia. The spa is located right next door at Sunscape Sabor Cozumel. Spa and beauty treatments, massages, body wraps, facials, and a hydrotherapy circuit are available for an additional fee.
Guests that upgrade to the Preferred Club have amenities and activities. Preferred Club guests get personalized check-in and check-out, personal concierge service, and access to a private Preferred Club poole with swim-up bar. There are complaints that the pool needs some repair and the atmosphere is not the most fun. In the Preferred Club lounge and bar throughout the day, you can enjoy continental breakfast service, afternoon hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, specialty desserts, and premium liquors.
What to Eat & Drink
Secrets Aura Cozumel Adults Only All-Inclusive has Mexican, Caribbean, and international cuisine, with a big focus on American food. You can dine at the oceanfront buffet, Market Café, or at an à la carte gourmet restaurant, eat at the Barefoot Grill, or grab a deli snack at the Coco Café. Other dining options include having a romantic dinner in your suite, sharing an intimate meal on the beach, or enjoying private dining in La Cava. This dining option in the wine cellar is a casually elegant affair with wine pairings to accompany your meal.
Most dining options are in an outdoor setting with lovely views of the Caribbean, but be aware there are strict dress codes – men must always have on sleeved shirts, and women cannot dine in their bathing suits, a cover up is required even for breakfast and lunch.
Breakfast options begin at 7 am with your choices at Coco Café to get your coffee fix and the Market Café. The breakfast buffet runs from 7 am to 11 am and is the perfect spot to enjoy an omelet, fruit, and pastries while looking out at the turquoise water. Oceana also serves breakfast from 8:30 am to 11 am.
The Barefoot Grill opens in the afternoon from 11 am to 5 pm for you to enjoy burgers and snacks by the pool or on the beach. The buffet at Market Café and an à la carte restaurant, Windows, offer lunch options from 12:30 pm to 3 pm. Oceana also serves seafood lunch entrees from 11 am to 5 pm.
Several bars and swim-up bars are available on the property for those looking for libations. The Rendezvous lobby bar is open early, from 8 am to 11 am, where you can enjoy premium liquors to jump-start your day.
During the day, you can swim directly up to the bar for a tropical cocktail at the Manatees; and if you are part of the Preferred Club, you can enjoy their swim-up bar at the Preferred Club pool. You can enjoy a drink in the evening while listening to music at Desires or head to the rooftop to enjoy drinks, sushi, and the ocean views at the Sky Bar and Sushi. The Sky Bar is open from 5 pm to 11 pm and offers some of the best views for the sunset.
Dinner is served in several locations, with most having a casual elegant dress code, where you can wear tennis shoes or dress sandals, dress shirts with short sleeves or collared shirts, and long pants are required for men. No sleeveless shirts or flip-flops are allowed during dinner.
The buffet at the Market Café is open for dinner around 6 pm, and this is the only dinner option that allows casual clothing. The other dinner options, also opening around 6 pm, depending on restaurant availability, are the Bordeaux restaurant which offers French cuisine options in a romantic setting; Gohan Sushi Bar serving up your favorite sushi; Windows, where you can get traditional Mexican dishes, and Oceana for seafood. The restaurants also have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes available.
You can venture to the neighboring resorts and enjoy a delicious pizza place at Dreams or an authentic Mexican restaurant at Sunscape as part of the Sip, Savor & See Dining Experience for more dining options. This experience is one of the privileges of the Unlimited-Luxury package, where you can enjoy a complimentary dinner, drinks, and live entertainment at one of the nearby resorts.
