What To Do
Grab your water shoes and head out to the serene private beach for some fun in the sun. Full disclosure: it is man-made so it’s more like a lagoon, but it’s great for kids and even has opportunities for snorkeling and kayaking.
Stay on the beach in a comfortable lounger or move on to one of the three pools. The central pool has a fun, lively atmosphere with daily activities. Jump into a game of water polo or pool volleyball. While kids are welcome here, they probably won’t want to leave the Rockaway Bay Water Park and Kids Club. Water slides, splash pads, and games will keep them happy all day long!
If you need a little “me time”, visit the spa for a relaxing massage or invigorating facial treatment. Meet up with the rest of the family later for exciting evening shows or live music on the beach.
What To Eat
From six places to eat at and two bars to drink from, there’s something for everyone here. Grab a chip and dip it… into some zesty guacamole at the Mexican-inspired Frida. For indulgent pasta and a cheesy slice of wood-fired pizza, make sure to visit Pizzeto. To sample different cuts of specialty meats, head to Ipanema, the Brazilian steakhouse.
Craving something sweet? Choose from a selection of pastries and desserts at Cafetto, where you can wash it down with a warm cup of espresso.
You can’t miss the big thatched hut in the middle of the central pool that serves delicious snacks and specialty cocktails all day long. For a more sophisticated atmosphere, the Jigger + Shaker bar mixes up local spices and house made syrups to create delectable concoctions.
Room Guide
There are two “sides” to the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Heaven, for adults only, and Hacienda, which is family-friendly. Room categories at each are largely the same; connecting rooms on the Hacienda side add extra space for families as well.
Deluxe Gold, Swim-Up, and Diamond: These rooms offer 482 square feet of space and offer king-sized beds, while Deluxe Gold has a two-double-bed option as well. Gold views are of the gardens, Swim-Up opens directly to the pool, and Diamond gets you the “best view available.” All have furnished balconies and bedside jet bathtubs.
Deluxe & Rock Royalty Partial Ocean View: While these rooms offer the same size and amenities as the above, they catch some ocean views from their balconies. Rock Royalty versions have special perks like a 25-minute couples massage, a balcony with a hammock, a complimentary beach bag, and priority for early check-in and late check-out.
Deluxe Sky Terrace: A giant terrace makes these high-floor rooms much larger, and they include hammocks, lounge chairs, and a hot tub outside. On the Hacienda side, these can come in a two-bedroom version as well.
Rock Suites & Rock Star Suites: The top suites at this resort come with a personal assistant and huge amounts of space. One and two-bedroom versions are available, and all have awesome ocean views with huge terraces to enjoy them from.
Special Experiences
Hard Rock Hotels are really good at being special. Rock Royalty rooms and amazing Rock Suites are an easy way to take your stay to the next level, with perks like free massages and personal assistants. But even standard rooms are quite unique.
If you plan to spend a lot of time enjoying the pools and beach, consider booking a Bali Bed package for the day. You get much more than the comfort of beach chairs and umbrellas, plus wine, champagne, and/or butler service, depending on the package you choose.
The resort has several special features like laser tag, bowling, the HyperX gaming lounge, and an on-property nightclub – all awesome activities for those who need a break from the sun or something to do when it gets dark. You can also become a rockstar yourself at the Music Lab, either in a real band, on a recording to take home, or as a DJ.
