What’s Special About this Resort
The Ambergris Cay Resort could be mistaken for literal heaven. This private island is surely the dreamiest way to vacation, and for those who can afford it, we couldn’t recommend this trip of a lifetime more.
Turks and Caicos are already known for their stunning beaches, but the privacy of this island and the truly pristine coast simply can’t be beat. Between the beautiful waterfront property, the gorgeous hiking trails, the fun water activities and the gourmet a la carte dining, you’ll never want to leave.
This resort is the absolute pinnacle of luxury, and unfortunately it is priced accordingly. One single night at the Ambergris Cay resort could run you over six thousand dollars, which is an extremely prohibitive rate for most travelers. However if you have the means, we highly recommend this true paradise.
All airport transfers, premium beverages, a la carte meals, non-motorized water sports gear, tennis, and more are included in the price of your stay at Ambergris Cay.

Things we don't like:

Predictably expensive
-
More ideal for couples than families – no double bed units available
-
Most units do not have a bathtub
What To Do
For those looking to maximize their time in or around the water, there is plenty to spark and keep your interest. The resort offers non-motorized water sports gear like kayaks, paddle boards, Hobie cats, and snorkeling gear, as well as tennis and pickleball. There are pros on site for anyone who might need a lesson or two. In addition to watersports, there are also a plethora of ways to relax on the beach, too. The Resort provides chairs and towels, as well as picnic and bonfire setups.
Take in the beauty of the island on a guided nature walk, or bird watching excursion. The Turks and Caicos islands are home to over 200 species of birds, including flamingos and other tropical fowl. There are also trails all over the island for hiking, jogging and biking.
Get comfortable at the resort and enjoy the pool service, premium drinks and dining, and in-suite amenities like board games, a top of the line TV and even a telescope for stargazing. Enjoy Spa treatments at an additional fee – many guest reviews rave about the resident masseuse and the beautiful open-air setting.
There are many ways to spend your time on the island, but Ambergris Cay is also the perfect place to do absolutely nothing. Leave your devices in the room and really soak in the miles of pristine beaches, a good book, and a cold beverage.
What To Eat and Drink
While dining options are limited compared to say, Beaches Resort, where Ambergris Cay may be lacking in quantity they more than make up for in quality.
Calico Bar & Restaurant
Calico Bar & Restaurant offers à la carte meals featuring local and seasonal ingredients. To go above and beyond, they will indulge most requests of meal modifications and even make off menu items given they have the ingredients and equipment necessary. At least once a week there is a lobster night, and the restaurant offers s’mores as a fun dessert option. There is also a premium whiskey bar at the Calico Bar, in addition to craft cocktails and mocktails available.
Tiki Bar
Many guest reviews mention a Tiki Bar, where all the cocktails are made from scratch with their own tropical flare, and all the bartenders know your name. The level of service from all of the staff is truly top of the line.
