Rumpl is a fairly new company with a lot of heart and a pretty great product. Rumpl started in the back of a van with a simple mission to make better blankets. While this is just a step shy of reinventing the wheel, they managed to accomplish their lofty goal of making a unique blanket that does more in a way that does it better.
The blankets are designed with an innovative use of performance, weather-proof materials that are typically found in outdoor gear. The materials used are 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, both for the outer cover and the insulation, so these blankets are keeping folks warm while keeping plastic out of landfills.
Great for the beach, great for camping, or just going for a picnic in the park, these blankets are sure to keep you warm and dry and make any outing a little bit sweeter.

The Rumpl Blanket is Unique
The Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket caught our eye before we even got our hands on one, thanks to the beautiful, vibrant designs. The blankets come in countless designs and a couple of different sizes, so you can personalize your blanket to your needs and preferences. All sizes are extremely packable, with the largest size packing down to a mere 8 x 19,” and weighing in at just under 4lbs.
It seems like a Rumpl blanket satisfies everything, between the convenient carrying case, corner loops to stake it down, and the handy cape clips that transform the single-person blanket into a wearable poncho. We were also impressed that these are machine washable, making for super convenient cleanup after camping, picnics, the beach or pet use.
Maybe the Softest Blanket
This Rumpl blanket is super soft, but perhaps not in the way you’d expect. The outermost layer of material is moisture-wicking, reminiscent of a windbreaker. Made with 100% recycled 30D ripstop polyester fabric, these blankets will keep you nice and warm while keeping the atmosphere nice and cool. The blankets are extremely insular like a sleeping bag, and can even be used in place of a traditional sleeping bag in warmer climates.
The Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket is designed to be moisture-wicking, so you can easily brush off or wipe away moisture. These blankets will do a great job of keeping you dry but won’t be very helpful in drying you off.
Rumpl Original Size and Weight
Rumpl Original Puffy Blankets come in a few different sizes – Junior, 1-person or 2-person:
Junior Blanket |
1-person Blanket |
2-person Blanket |
---|---|---|
Flat: 28 x 40”
Packed: 5 x 7” Weight: 0.6lbs |
Flat: 52 x 75”
Packed: 7 x 16” Weight: 2.1lbs |
Flat: 84 x 80”
Packed: 8 x 19” Weight: 3.7lbs |
The single-person blanket is large enough to wear as a poncho without the blanket dragging on the ground. All sizes are incredibly lightweight and packed down remarkably small for convenient and economical storage. These blankets are great from camping or short overnight hiking trips as you can keep your base weight low and not sacrifice too much space, but still get phenomenal insulation, warmth, and protection from the elements out of this product.
Environmental Impact
The Rumpl brand has made strides not only to lower their own impact on the environment, but also to divert used plastic away from landfills by making many of their fabrics and insulation out of post-consumer recycled materials, recycling over 5 million plastic bottles every year.
Rumpl is also a member of the 1% For The Planet movement, which means they donate 1% of all revenue to environmental non-profits. They are certified climate neutral, offsetting 100% of their carbon footprint, in addition to being a certified B Corp. Needless to say, they have made it a priority to leave the planet better than they found it, and they have all the scout badges to prove it.
Rumpl Orginal Puffy Blanket Maintenance
The Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket is incredibly low maintenance – they are super easy to store, clean, and keep smelling fresh. The water-resistant coating makes it pretty difficult to stain the blanket since most liquids wipe right off. For anything that doesn’t wipe right off, the Rumpl blankets are machine washable and even do well in the dryer on a low setting. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
Two Thumbs Up for Rumpl
As far as we can see, the Rumpl team has reached their goal of reinventing the wheel. The Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket does everything a normal blanket does, and so much more. Between the performance materials, the handy new features, the water resistance and the machine washability, these blankets really stole the show.
