What to do
The pristine white-sand beach is perfect for lounging around with a drink in hand or participating in some water activities. Go snorkeling or enjoy a beautiful sunrise from a kayak or catamaran. Get out and active in the beautiful sun, whether you’d rather play some golf or catch one of the scheduled beach soccer or volleyball games.
The fun doesn’t end there. Cool off in the sparkling infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and mingle with other guests at the swim-up bar. Play a game of chess on a giant (and very instagrammable) chess board and create a piece of art to take home with you at a Paint and Sip class.
If you feel like splurging, the Spa by Pevonia has an endless list of services or a beachfront pamper session, though the prices are high. You can opt for a seaside table for an unforgettable experience.
What to eat
Don’t worry about being hungry at Secrets Maroma Beach. With a total of nine dining options, your only problem will be trying everything during your stay! Whether you want to have an intimate meal in your room or go out to one of the six a la carte restaurants, there are so many options.
Between beach and pool hopping, you can stop by one of several casual eateries for nachos, tacos, or sandwiches. The Barefoot Grill is a great spot for a light lunch and the Seaside Grill is where you can enjoy fresh seafood with ocean and pool views. Also be sure to stop by Barracuda and Palapa Beach Bar for tasty tropical cocktails.
Boasting over 200 wines in their wine cellar, Bordeaux is a classy French restaurant where sophisticated style meets delicious cuisine. Craving a cozy bowl of pozole? Head to El Patio, where traditional Mexican meals are prepared with local ingredients. Another popular dinner option is Himitsu, where you can expect fresh sushi and sizzling teppanyaki.
The drink selection is impressive – there are seven different bars that serve anything from blended cocktails to tequila shots. Dance the night away at Desires or sip on a martini while enjoying some evening entertainment at the Showtime theater bar.
Room Guide
The 412 rooms and suites at Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun all come with the luxurious touches that World of Hyatt guests love. Nespresso machines and high-tech tablets are found in all categories. Your room type choice mostly depends on the view you want, with a few suites offering extra space.
Tropical View, Partial Ocean View, and Ocean View Junior Suites: At 624 square feet, these are large entry-level rooms, and they come with either one king or two double beds. The bathroom has a hot tub for two, and furnished balconies allow guests to enjoy the fresh air and their choice of view. Ocean View rooms have optional Preferred Club access for a special lounge and extra benefits.
Swim-Out Junior Suite: With the same square footage and bedding as the above, the difference with these rooms is the ground-floor ability to jump right into one of the 12 pools from your private terrace. Swim-Out rooms can also be upgraded to Preferred Club access if desired.
Honeymoon, Governor Swim-Out, & Presidential Suites: Guests who want more than the 624 square feet offered by other categories should opt for one of these suite options, all of which are in the Preferred Club category. Honeymoon Suites offer outdoor soaking tubs, Governor Suites have swim-up access, and the Presidential Suite has the most space of all.
Special Experiences
Early risers can take advantage of the resort’s beachfront placement and go on a sunrise kayak tour to see the day start over the Caribbean. The view is just as great from the sand or from oceanfront rooms’ balconies if you’d rather enjoy it with a morning espresso.
Throughout the day, the resort hosts fun activities like taco-making classes and wine and paint sessions. Outdoor activities that can be arranged include snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, and scuba diving – there’s a dive center right there on the beach.
Guests can enjoy the end of the day with live entertainment around the resort’s beaches and restaurants. Alternatively, enjoy the evening by yourself at a private dinner on the beach set up by wait staff just for you.
