What to Do
Montage Deer Valley is renowned for the Spa Montage, a 35,000 square foot spa. Guests can indulge in the indoor mosaic lap pool, whirlpools, outdoor pool, and private sun deck, sauna, steam rooms, mind and body movement studio, wellness center, and full-service salon.
You can enjoy impressive views from the hot tub and relax with mountain-themed treatments, such as the Montage Stone Massage and the California Wildflower Ritual. Other spa services include manicures, pedicures, facials, massages, body balancing experiences, and numerous fitness activities, such as yoga, pilates, dance, spin, and more.
The big draw to Montage Deer Valley is the skiing, with more than 20 lifts and 100 alpine trails; you can just head out the back door and step into your skis. Afterward, enjoy the firepits in the chilly evenings with complimentary s’mores with house-made marshmallows and graham crackers.
When you’re not skiing, relax in the indoor pool/steam room/sauna and the outdoor pool with plenty of cozy poolside seating and tall, lush trees completely surrounding it. On Sundays, there’s live music by the pool.
For the rest of the year, when there’s no snow, there are more than 400 miles of hiking trails to enjoy, especially in the fall when the mountainside is covered in golden aspens. More adventures include boating, fly fishing, mountain biking, golf, horseback riding, tubing, and river rafting. Families will also love to meet the resident Bernese mountain dogs, Monty and Murphy, in the lobby.
Indoor activities are plentiful at Daly’s Pub & Rec. Families can spend hours in the games arcade with bowling lanes, darts, billiards, and vintage arcade games or catch an exciting sporting event on the numerous flat-screen TVs.
If the parents need a night out, Paintbox is available to entertain ages 5 to 12 with games, crafts, movies, snowshoeing, and mountainside scavenger hunts. In addition, entire families can gather to learn outdoor photography, family yoga, guided nature hikes and fly-casting lessons, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and outdoor concerts.
What to Eat & Drink
After you’ve worked up an appetite on the ski slopes or hiking trails, Montage Deer Valley has five dining options for you to enjoy: pub-style favorites, pizzas, burgers, soups, salads, and amazing grilled steaks. Cooking classes and wine tastings are available. In-room dining is also available if you want to have a private dinner in your suite or room.
Montage Deer Valley’s main restaurant is Apex, where you can enjoy Continental cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner overlooking Aspen Groves. Apex Steak serves steakhouse classics with a progressive twist during dinner, like the Cowboy Ribeye and Utah Elk Chop.
In Daly’s Pub & Rec, the adults will love the Parisian Mac and Cheese, Wagyu Burger, or Margherita Pizza while sipping cocktails during lunch and dinner. The kids will love their Grilled Cheese and Crispy Chicken Tenders.
Burgers & Bourbon is where you can enjoy Bourbon BBQ Wings while sipping one of the 33 different Bourbons available or munch on one of the gourmet burgers with fresh-cut fries and hand-spun shakes. In the Vista Lounge & Terrace, enjoy craft cocktails and snack on cheese or chocolate fondue while listening to live music in the evenings.
Another great place to eat is Yama Sushi, where you can get fresh sushi rolls and sake. And don’t forget about the Buzz Coffee Shop to get your caffeine fix in the mornings.
