What’s Special About This Resort
For those prepared to pay a premium for the ultimate luxury resort experience in Myrtle Beach, the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa Grande Dunes is an obvious choice. The sprawling resort includes multiple sparkling oceanfront pools, beautifully decorated interiors, spacious rooms, and dependable Marriott service
The semi-secluded location offers a more peaceful, restorative experience for guests while still remaining close enough to get a dose of the unique experiences and vibrant nightlife in Myrtle Beach – and a short drive to and from the airport.
The Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa Grande Dunes sits right on the beach, allowing guests access to a pristine, quiet, semi-private beach. While the beach is breathtaking and tranquil, the resort hasn’t made any effort to make it functional for guests by offering umbrellas, chairs, towels, facilities, or any kind of watersports gear.

What to Do
While we’re sure you are mostly concerned with the “beach” part of your Myrtle Beach vacation, the Spa at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa Grande Dunes gives you an alternative means of rest and relaxation. The spa is an attraction in and of itself, offering a long menu of massages, body treatments, facials, and even nail services. Visit the spa to look and feel your best while on vacation.
If a spa day isn’t really your cup of tea, you can hit the beach with a good book. The Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa Grande Dunes sits right on oceanfront property, with access to a pristine, semi-private beach. Unfortunately, there are no provided beach umbrellas, chairs towels, or facilities, nor are there paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, or any kind of watersports gear, so be sure to come prepared.
Once you’ve had your fill of splashing around at the beach, you can head back to the resort pools to do some more splashing around. The resort features an indoor-outdoor pool, as well as a whirlpool hot tub – towels are provided, so don’t worry about bringing any from your room.
If you’re traveling with kids and they need a break from the water, the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort also offers a number of ways for kids to stay busy, with a game room and even a number of kid’s spa treatments. Made with families in mind, the game room is full of video games and tabletop games to keep everyone in the family happy and entertained, while the Marriott Myrtle Beach spa features a “Tween Spa” menu for something fun and different.
What to Eat & Drink
The food at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa Grande Dunes is truly excellent, but it comes with a slightly less charming Marriott price tag. We highly recommend checking out some of the food, but would also suggest bringing your own snacks and maybe venturing outside the resort to dine on your vacation if you want to save a little money.

Room Guide
We found the guest rooms at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort Grande Dunes to be one of the bigger selling points, with clean, updated interiors that just exude luxury. All rooms are outfitted with a mini fridge, coffee/tea maker, hair dryer, 2 robes, high-speed Wi-Fi access, a spacious work desk, and more.
Resort View Guest Rooms
The Resort View Guest Rooms are your standard hotel room, with your choice of either 1 King or 2 Queen beds. While most of these rooms simply feature floor to ceiling windows, there are a few that do include a private balcony. The updated marble bathrooms feature an all-in-one shower/tub. These rooms can accommodate up to 4 occupants.
Partial Ocean View Guest Rooms
The Partial Ocean View Guest Rooms are a slight upgrade in terms of the scenery. King or 2 Queen layouts are available for these rooms, but none of the partial ocean view rooms feature a balcony. These rooms also feature an updated marble bathroom with an all-in-one shower/tub and can accommodate up to 4 occupants.
Oceanfront Balcony Guest Rooms
The Oceanfront Balcony Guest Rooms are the largest guest rooms available at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort and offer the most significant upgrade in terms of view. King or 2 Queen layouts are available for these rooms, and each features a private balcony.
While we hoped for some extra interest in the bathroom, these rooms have the same marble bathroom with an all-in-one shower/tub. Rooms can accommodate up to 4 occupants normally, and 5 with a roll-in bed or crib.
Special Experiences
While the resort doesn’t have a ton to offer in terms of complimentary water sports gear or resort-facilitated adventures, there are a number of fun things to do just a short walk or drive away from the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa Grande Dunes to pique your interest.
Golf
As mentioned in our overview of Myrtle Beach resorts, one of Myrtle Beach’s main draws for a vacation is its many iconic golf courses. Less than 5 minutes away from the Marriot is the Grande Dunes Golf Course, which features beautiful oceanside landscapes that are sure to make for the most gorgeous game of golf you’ve ever experienced.
Nearby Adventures
While the Marriott doesn’t facilitate any tours itself, they do offer some great suggestions for nearby experiences. High on their list of recommendations is the Carolina Safari Jeep Tours – a sightseeing adventure and unique way to take in the wildlife, local history, and folklore of the area.
Additionally, the Barefoot Queen River Boat Cruises come highly recommended. A short trip up the beach, and you’re in for an entertaining evening on a 70-foot authentic wooden riverboat. The boat features indoor and outdoor decks for enjoying the fresh air and scenery and provides entertainment and a charming narration.
