What’s Special About This Resort
Stretching an impressive 6600 acres, the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes Resort is one of the many Myrtle Beach golf resorts, in addition to being a gorgeous, luxury destination for your next vacation. The design is sophisticated and elegant, making this a perfect resort for special occasions like honeymoons, anniversaries or even your next girls weekend.
While the spacious rooms, stunning views, excellent food, and private beach access makes for a great romantic getaway, we were particularly impressed with the tennis facility and offerings at this resort. Featuring a semi-private tennis club equipped with 10 Har-Tru clay courts, 8 lighted courts and a fully stocked pro shop, the 5,000 square foot tennis facility makes this a great destination for your next weekend getaway with your doubles partner.
While we were admittedly a bit underwhelmed by the watersports offerings, the resort does work with neighboring rental companies to offer guests reasonable rates on jet ski and pontoon boat rentals, as well as a few different adventure tours. If you’re looking for paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking and other water activities, you may be on your own to find a 3rd party rental spot.

What to Do
If we were to guess, we’d imagine you had the beach in mind while planning your trip to Myrtle Beach, and this resort certainly delivers on that front. While this resort may not be located right on the beach, you can still enjoy many of the same perks of many competing beachfront resorts in the area.
The Marina Inn at Grande Dunes sits about a mile and a half inland but owns a beautiful stretch of private beach where guests can shuttle to and from throughout the day. Access to this private beach also includes the complimentary use of provided beach umbrellas, chairs and towels, showers, a changing room, and full facilities.
Additionally, the resort partners with a local watersports company, Myrtle Beach Watersports, to offer Jet Ski and pontoon boat rentals to guests. These seem to be all the offerings in terms of watersports – we were admittedly a little underwhelmed with the lack of paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, etc.
Once you’ve had your fill relaxing at the beach, you can head back to the resort grounds to do some more relaxing there. The resort features an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a number of in-room spa services in lieu of an on-site spa.
If you’re more of an active vacationer, there are plenty of ways to get moving while enjoying the beautiful South Carolina scenery. The Marina Inn at Grande Dunes features a par 72 golf course at Grande, which showcases seven holes that play along the Intracoastal Waterway. While games of golf are not included in the price of your stay, the resort does offer several packages that cater to golf lovers that are worth checking out.
Tennis seems to be of great importance at Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, with a semi-private tennis club that features 10 Har-Tru clay courts, 8 lighted courts, and a fully stocked pro shop. The 5,000-square-foot facility caters to a broad scope of players, providing a fitness center, racket and ball machine rentals, and tennis instruction and programs for all ages and abilities. We should note that the use of tennis facilities and services are at additional cost.
What to Eat & Drink
While the food options aren’t plentiful at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, what they do offer provides more than enough flavor and sustenance to fuel your beach getaway.
WaterScapes Restaurant
Waterscapes is an indoor/outdoor casual dining spot featuring fresh, local cuisine. This spot is one of the few family-friendly restaurants at the resort, offering a kid’s menu. Open daily for breakfast from 6:30 am – 11:30 am.

Reflections Bar offers a casual dining experience, with a menu that features specialty drinks, a wide selection of beer and wine, as well as lunch and dinner food options. Indoor and outdoor dining available when weather permits; open daily 11:30 am – 9:00 pm.

Anchor Cafe
The Anchor Cafe is a casual dining local favorite that is known for its scenic location and sunset views. The menu features a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and burgers, making for a great stop on your way to or from the beach for a quick bite. Open seasonally from April – September.
Pool & Beach Service
Food and beverages are available at the Pool Bar as well as the Oceanfront Beach Club, which offers light dining, beer, and wine. Both the pool bar and the Beach Club are only open seasonally from April – September.

Special Experiences
The Marina Inn itself is a bit low on special experiences, but luckily, the resort is centrally located in Myrtle Beach, close to many attractions, bars, and nightlife.
We did find the Wine Tasting Package offered at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes to be really intriguing, especially for a couple’s getaway or a girls’ weekend. The package includes luxury accommodations at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes and a wine tasting at Duplin Winery – which comes with a South Carolina-style gift basket including a bottle of select wine from Duplin, a wine stopper, bottle opener, Muscadine, and Pineapple & Habanero Salsa and crackers.
