BlackRapid was a pioneer of the camera sling and 3-point slinger. They are well-known and loved by the wider camera community. Durable, comfortable, and packed with features, the BlackRapid Sport is ideal for professional photographers and serious enthusiasts.

The BlackRapid Sport features an adjustable strap with an ergonomically-designed, breathable shoulder pad that provides optimal comfort and stability. This 3-point slinger comes with an underarm stabilizer that keeps the shoulder pad in place as you slide the camera up and down the strap for comfortable shooting. The strap has bumpers that can hold the camera in one spot to help keep it stable when not in use.

Blackrapid Sport Breathe Side By Side

You can wear this 3-point slinger on either shoulder. It is not the easiest to adjust while wearing. When the strap is on the right shoulder, it is difficult to attach and adjust the underarm strap, there is not as much space for the camera to slide, and the excess strap for the adjustment buckle can get in the way. When the strap is worn on the left shoulder, then the adjustment buckle is in the back and cannot be shortened or lengthened easily. It’s definitely best to find the right length you want to keep the sling at before you strap it on.

The Sport connects to the camera’s tripod mount with BlackRapid’s patented FastenR5, which is then connected to a sturdy carabiner and locks everything in place. The carabiner comes with BlackRapid’s LockStar, which keeps the carabiner from coming loose.

It is wise to double-check the FastenR5’s attachment to your camera from time to time. All base plate slings can come unscrewed and then your camera will fall. Luckily the BlackRapid Sport comes with a safety strap as a backup to keep your camera attached should this happen. However, the Sport’s safety strap clip felt like it might not withstand a lot of moving so take care when attaching.

While not perfect and not the cheapest, it’s hard to find a 3-point slinger that professionals love as much as the BlackRapid Sport  It is our top camera strap pick for securely connecting your camera and the most comfortable once you have the strap length set.
