8 Best 3 Point Slingers for Cameras in 2025

Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or a new hobbyist, investing in a good camera strap, especially a 3-point slinger or sling strap, is just as important as investing in your other camera equipment. A reliable strap allows you to comfortably carry your equipment and perform other tasks without worrying about the safety of your camera. It allows you to do shoots in any environment without having to worry about your camera falling, banging into something, or resting on grimy or dusty surfaces.

Sure, the stock strap that came with your camera can technically still do the job, but it most likely won’t do as good a job at keeping your camera secure and keeping you comfortable as a decent 3-point slinger or sling strap will. Moreover, a good sling strap can distribute that heavy weight of your camera more evenly across your body–allowing you be able to work with your camera for longer hours. A 3-point slinger adds an extra underarm strap to keep the cushioned shoulder padding and cross-body strap in place for extra comfort and support.

All that said, it’s hard to settle on just one, as different straps cater to different needs; so let’s dive in to our favorite 3-point slingers and sling straps of 2025.

The Top 8 3-point Slingers in 2025

All the 3-point Slingers We've tested

Waka Professional Dslr Product Image

This Waka Camera sling is a great budget option for photographers looking for a heavy-duty sling strap that simply does the job. While it’s nothing fancy, it’s affordable, durable, and has all the basic features one would look for in a sling strap

The Waka Professional DSLR Camera Shoulder Strap features a robust adjustable strap (capable of supporting full-size DSLRs) and a durable shoulder pad with a pocket for storing small essentials such as extra batteries or memory cards. This sling strap will suit taller photographers better as the strap tends to hang low even at its shortest adjustment. At its shortest, the adjustment buckle comes right to where the camera rests at the bottom of the strap so you may end up having it hit your leg as it hangs when you walk.

Specs & Features
  • Adjustable, quick-release strap
  • Anti-slip shoulder pad with zippered storage compartment

Peak Design Slide Lite Product Image

The Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap (designed for more lightweight and mirrorless cameras)  along with its sister the Peak Design Slide (for heavier DSLR cameras) are, some would say, anomalies. While they have a straightforward design and are very easy to use, they are also among the most versatile and feature-packed sling straps on the market. These are straps for photographers looking for something that’s low-profile, robust, and highly versatile.

The Slide Lite features a specially engineered nylon webbing strap that’s padded internally, as opposed to most straps that feature a shoulder pad. The nylon strap is coated on one side (the side that comes in contact with your shoulder or neck) with a gripping finish to help keep the strap in place and smooth on the other side, to help the camera slide into shooting position. Additionally, the strap has quick adjusters to easily adjust its length as well as dictate your camera’s range of motion even while you are wearing it. In practice, however, because there is no underarm stabilizing strap, often when the camera is slid up for photographing the shoulder strap will slip behind and will need to be readjusted when you resume walking. This is common with sling straps.

All that said, the main highlight of the Slide Lite is its Anchor Link system that allows you to carry your camera securely in a number of different ways. It can connect to your camera at three different points giving some extra security and making it easy to move the strap from being carried sling style to around the neck. Ideal for photographers who employ a variety of shooting styles.

The Slide Lite is compact and lightweight, but it punches way above its weight when it comes to versatility.

Specs & Features
  • Unique Anchor Link system (composed of anchors, anchor connectors, and a low-profile anchor mount)
  • Adjustable 1.3" wide specially engineered nylon strap with internal padding and a gripped side
  • Aluminum adjuster handles

Things we like:
  • check-mark
Highly durable strap with equally durable buckles and adjuster handles

Altura Rapid Fire Product Image

Like most of Altura Photo’s products, the Altura Rapid Fire Neck Strap offers incredible value. This Altura Sling is a simple and useful camera sling that’s easy to adjust.

The Altura Photo Camera Strap is an easily adjustable strap that comes with a shoulder pad and base plate camera connector. The shoulder pad comes with a zipper pocket for storing essentials such as memory cards and batteries.

This sling strap attaches to your camera with a claw clasp that connects to a metal plate with an anti-slip rubber bottom that screws into your camera’s tripod mount (compatible with any cameras with a standard 1/4″ tripod mount).

The Altura Rapid Fire sling strap is not very robust with cheaper plastic fittings and does not seem very durable. But it could be a great budget option for beginner photographers who don’t have heavy equipment and are trying out new camera accessories.

Usa Gear Trueshot Product Image

The USA GEAR TrueSHOT Camera Sling Strap is an ideal 3-point slinger for photographers looking for something affordable and comfortable with some added features.

Like most 3-point slingers, the USA GEAR Sling Strap features a sturdy nylon strap with adjustable locks, an underarm stabilizing strap, and a shoulder pad. The shoulder pad is made from very comfortable neoprene and comes with an easily accessible integrated memory card pocket, as well as an elastic pocket with a velcro closure (which some photographers prefer over zipper pockets).

The TrueSHOT’s underarm strap has reversible buckles, allowing photographers to switch this 3-point slinger to either shoulder. The reversible buckles would also allow users to connect to another strap on the opposite shoulder and carry 2 cameras, one on each side. One of our photographers found the underarm strap too high and uncomfortable under the arm, especially while wearing a sweater.

Specs & Features
  • Adjustable strap with quick-release reversible buckles
  • Removable underarm strap
  • Neoprene shoulder pad with built-in SD card pocket and elastic pocket
  • Screw on metal plate

Ocim Camera Sling Strap Product Image

Without a doubt, the Ocim Camera Sling Strap is among the best 3-point slingers when it comes to value for money. Considered by many to be a BlackRapid clone (that’s right, not a cheap knockoff, but an actual clone), the Ocim Sling Strap can go toe to toe with 3-point slingers that cost more than three times its retail price. With all its built-in features, it’s ideal for anyone looking for a high-quality strap that doesn’t break the bank.

The Ocim Sling Strap features a robust adjustable strap with a thick shoulder pad that’s locked in place by an adjustable underarm strap. Much like the BlackRapid Breathe line, the strap connects to the bottom of the camera through a stainless steel mount screw, which connects to a metal carabiner with a locking mechanism (it does not have something similar to BlackRapid’s LockStar, though).

While the concept behind this Ocim Camera Sling Strap is obviously not in any way original, and it does have its flaws, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything that offers more bang for your buck.

  • Breathable shoulder pad
  • Adjustable strap
  • Locking metal carabiner
  • Easily adjustable underarm strap
  • Stainless steel mount screw with anti-slip rubber

Tarion Camera Shoulder Product Image

While this TARION Camera Strap is not a sling or 3-point slinger we loved its look and build so we threw it in. It is as old school as a camera strap can be and is ideal for anyone looking for something sturdy and simple with a classic vintage look.

The TARION Camera Strap features a high-quality cotton yarn and PU leather strap with an anti-slip surface to keep the strap from moving. While the strap itself isn’t adjustable, the ends of the straps can be adjusted to your desired length. Additionally, the strap comes with a pair of metal eyelets that can be attached not just to cameras but to other equipment as well, such as binoculars. The strap attaches to the camera by looping the ends of the strap through the metal eyelets.

All in all, the TARION Camera Strap is an ideal strap if you’re a casual photographer looking for something with a timeless, good-looking design.

Buyer’s Guide:

There are a number of factors to consider when buying a 3-point slinger or a sling strap for your camera.

Size and Weight

One of the most important aspects to consider when buying a 3-point slinger or sling strap is its size and weight. While most straps may not weigh much by themselves, considering you’ll be wearing one that’s attached to your camera and lens for hours on end, a few ounces can definitely impact overall comfort.

Moreover, the ideal strap should have the right dimensions for your body type. If its shoulder pad is a tad bigger (or smaller) than necessary, you’ll definitely feel it after an hour of use. Additionally, the length of the straps (as well as how much shorter or longer you can adjust them) will dictate the range of motion of your camera, so you’ll want something that’ll fit your shooting style.

Pockets

One of the benefits of using a 3-point slinger or sling strap over a conventional camera neck strap can be added compartments. Whether a 3-point slinger is equipped with a small pocket integrated into its shoulder pad or with an extra bag, the extra storage is nice especially if you have to carry extra batteries, lens caps, memory cards, and other small essentials.

Durability and Weatherproofing

When you’re choosing something that’ll carry the full weight of thousands of dollars of equipment, you’ll want something that can do the job without any hiccups.

As such, durability is of utmost importance especially if you’re a professional photographer. Before investing in it, you’ll want to check the robustness not only of your strap but also of its connectors, shoulder pad, pockets/storage compartments, buckles, and other hardware.

Furthermore, if you dabble in any kind of outdoor photography, you’ll want something that will hold up under any weather condition–just like the rest of your outdoor gear.

Overall Comfort

If you’re a professional photographer, or if you simply use your camera a lot, you’ll want to get something comfortable. While most straps seem comfortable right out the box, the ideal 3-point slinger or sling strap should stay comfortable after hours and hours of use.

As such, before buying one, you’ll want to check if the strap distributes the weight of your camera evenly across your body. You’ll also want to check if the material your 3-point slinger or sling strap is made out of is breathable, moisture-wicking, non-chafing, and of course, lightweight.

Price

Obviously, before considering any of the aforementioned factors, you’ll want to consider your budget. While your budget may limit your options, it is worth considering that many of the more expensive sling straps and 3-point slingers are built to last. While you may not need something that costs more than $20 when you’re just starting out if you have developed your photography and are carrying expensive equipment at the end of your strap it is worth looking at what professionals recommend as being safe and durable.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do you use 3-point slingers?

A 3-point slinger is worn cross-body. You attach the 3-point slinger to your camera first (make sure everything is secure). Then adjust the strap to your desired hanging length. A lot of 3-point slingers can’t be adjusted while you are wearing them so it is worth taking the time before you start photographing to get the length right. Put the strap over your head with the shoulder pad resting on your preferred shoulder. Then attach the underarm stabilizing strap and any stabilizing bumpers for camera positioning, and you are ready.

What are the benefits of using a 3-point slinger?

As mentioned above, 3-point slingers help secure your camera to your body and prevent it from moving (or falling) with every little movement you make. Most 3-point slingers also distribute the weight of your camera evenly across your body, preventing a sore neck or shoulder even after a full day’s shoot. Finally, a 3-point slinger also allows you to carry your camera hands-free while remaining easily accessible for when you need to shoot something at a moment’s notice and without it bouncing around when you are walking
