An Easy Grip Straw lid sits atop this model when purchased at a price significantly higher than budget flasks.

Corkcicle Insulated Canteen: An Overview
During a day’s hustle, we’ve found the Corkcicle canteen to be a solid companion for staying hydrated. This premium water bottle is priced with the other well known, well-respected hydration options in the more expensive segment. It has all the best specs of a triple-insulated, stainless steel water bottle that can actually keep drinks chilled for a full 25 hours or hold warm beverages warm for close to 12 hours.
We were impressed by its performance—even after hours in the sun, our water remained refreshingly cold. Our Canteen is black and attracts the sun, so we were satisfied with 8 hours of chilled water when we drank the rest.
We imagine a good 20 hours of chilled liquid can be counted on with cold water and using the straw–not screwing open the lid.
The canteen’s easy-grip design and matte black finish with Durabprene coating make it stylish yet practical for diverse activities, whether hitting the gym or commuting to work.
One of the few water bottles with a rubber bottom is a stand out feature. It’s an easy one, but a surprisingly seldom-seen feature nonetheless.
While the 20oz size fits comfortably in our hands and drink holders, it does mean needing to refill throughout the day for consistent hydration. The 24oz option can be considered but with the compromise on comfort and compatibility challenges vis-a-vis cup holders.
Its user-friendly straw mouth minimizes chill loss. Sipping coffee is doable, too.
The Corkcicle Canteen needs to be hand washed. This can be a bit of a downside, but it’s a small trade-off for the quality and insulation it provides.
Hydration Experience with Corkcicle’s Canteen
Most stainless steel water bottles have the same characteristics, with the lid being the feature that tends to stand out. The price of the Corkcicle Canteen–more than $35–means that it needs to do everything right and have a great lid.
Having recently used this canteen, there’s a general appreciation of both the experience and the effect.
The brand promises drinks will stay chilled for up to 25 hours or pleasantly hot for 12 hours, which is the standard. But because of the lid and the great insulation, the Canteen joins the Yeti Rambler and Hydro Flask Wide Mouth with the best insulation on this promise.
For warm beverages, this bottle does a pretty good job too but is going to be affected by conditions–like all water bottles–outside and the temperature of the liquid.
Smart Lid & Flask Design
The Easy Grip and Straw lid is a feature that works really well and doesn’t feel cheap–something that other budget water bottles .
Opening the leak-free straw can be done while driving, without looking. The tapered bottom makes it so the 20oz flask easily fits most cup holders. The 24oz option will fit quite a few too.
With two cuts along the vertical sides of the bottle, the Canteen is easy to grip in a pair of modest-sized hands. It also makes it possible to lie it down on a surface without it rolling. This actually comes in handy when sailing or other activities where a cylindrical flask rolls off the edge.
Corkcicle’s Quality Build
The canteen’s stainless steel construction gives a sense of durability and strength.
It’s been banged around and dropped a couple of times, but it shows no significant dents or scratches. The rubber bottom will save it from most bails.
The matte black finish on our model resists fingerprints and smudges, retaining its sleek look despite everyday use. The material appears robust enough for regular use, but, as with any product, treating it carefully will extend its shelf life.
A Portable and Convenient Flask That Will Last
A standout benefit is its portability. It fits well in a car’s cup holder and is very nice when sailing, too.
The triple insulation genuinely keeps beverages ice-cold for the whole day, a fact we can attest to.
The ease of sipping from the straw mouth without any spills matches expectations for a water bottle in this price range. The 20oz capacity is ample for staying hydrated without constant refills and the 24oz model option is going to be better for longer absences from any watering hole.
It’s not dishwasher-friendly, but cleaning a water bottle by hand isn’t that complicated or time-consuming.
Whether we’re hitting the golf course, enduring the heat at a baseball game, or requiring a trusty drink container at work, the Corkcicle Canteen will be a good hydration flask that will last.
Be sure to take note of what kind of lid you buy, as Corkcicle has several options. (This review included the Easy Grip Straw lid).
