Sport-Brella Super-Brella is Super for the Beach
Spending all day outside watching your kids play football or chilling at the beach seems like a good idea in theory, but there’s a lot that can go wrong. Does your beach umbrellas stand up well against winds, and how sturdy is it?
The Sport-Brella Super-Brella met our criteria of having all the features that a high-quality piece of beach gear should have. It’s proved to be UV-resistant, water-repellent, and offers more UV protection than most beach umbrellas.
Be aware though, if the weather is windy and you have minimum experience with anchoring beach umbrellas, it might take you some time to figure out how to put up this one so it won’t blow away.
Depending on the terrain, the anchors that keep the flaps in the ground may not hold as well, requiring a little extra effort with a rock or a bag full of sand. But this is usual for beach tents and canopies. And having these extra anchor options does put it ahead of other beach umbrellas that only anchor with the pole in the ground.
Umbrella Quality
This is where the Sport-Brella beach umbrella shines; it’s built from durable materials that are made to last. We’re talking about an abrasion-resistant 210-Denier Polyester canopy with a 50+ UPF rating and steel ribs and stretchers. Further equipped with top wind vents and side flaps, the umbrella is constructed with longevity in mind.
The telescoping pole has a metal tip that’s held in place by the steel screw for additional stability. We did wish it had a better sand anchor on the pole, like the Tommy Bahama Beach Umbrella.
Features
The Sport-Brella Super-Brella beach umbrella has everything you need to prop it up and relax in the shade. Along with the telescoping pole, side windows, and side flaps with pockets, there are four steel ground stakes, four hooked ground stakes, and three 8-foot tie-down cords for securing the umbrella to the ground.
Ease of Use
Even though it might be difficult to set it up in windy conditions, the tie-downs on the Sport Brella can be easily set up with two people. First, hold the bottom part of the pole and firmly push it into the sand. Once the pole is secure, then stake the flaps into the sand, or anchor them with extra sand or something heavy.
The setup won’t take you more than a few minutes and nor will the process of taking it down. In the collapsed state, the umbrella is 54x4x4 inches. Pack it in its carrying case, for easy transport.
The Sport-Brella Super-Brella does sit low to the ground like a beach tent. If you want to be able to stand under the canopy but still have more protection like with a beach tent, then you should consider the QIPI Beach Cabana.
Sport-Brella Price/Quality
The value you’re getting when purchasing this hybrid beach umbrella is great. Its design gives you the convenience of a beach umbrella with the privacy and extra sun protection of a beach tent.
The quality combined with the functionality makes it a worthwhile purchase that’ll last you a long time with proper care. Take your time to learn how to install it, carry it in the case that comes with the purchase, and you’ll preserve the integrity of the umbrella just fine.

Yes! The Sport-Brella Super-Brella has a lot of versatility. Its easy set-up and breakdown makes it perfect for the beach and other environments. Easily set it up to watch your kids’ games or at a BBQ or picnic. At just over $50 on Amazon, we found it to be a great price for its build quality and wide range of uses.
Compared to the BEACHBUB price tag, the Sport-Brella offers great value and versatility if you prefer a beach tent feel.
