Straying from a traditional beach tent, the Osoeri beach shade is light, easy to put into its bag, and provides a lot of shade. One person, or a group, can set this canopy up. However, both sizes are massive, so ensure enough space around you before you start.

A unique feature of the Osoeri Beach Tent is that you can set it up to help block the wind. Instead of using all the poles, eliminate two to extend the tent to the ground to shield sun and wind exposure.

Breakdown of the Osoeri Beach Canopy Parts

The Osoeri beach tent is made of durable and light materials. The Osoeri tent parts make it convenient to set up and pack away the tent. In contrast, we found the Coleman Go-Shade Backpack Tent with pre-connected poles to be very difficult to put away.

The canopy is made of stretchy lycra, which offers UPF50+ and blocks 96% of UV rays. The material is super soft to the touch, so head bonks won’t hurt. A significant contributor to this tent’s portability is how easily the canopy can be stuffed into the bag.

The canopy has 8 sandbags attached. Osoeri includes 2 small blue shovels to help users fill the bags. If you aren’t on the sand, Osoeri offers 8 yellow grass pegs to secure the tent down.

There are 4 collapsable poles made of thickened aluminum with rubber knobs. The light poles can be easily extended to set up and collapsed down to store them. There are also 4 bungee cords to attach the canopy to the poles.

Once you’re done, stuff the tent into the nylon carrying bag. This carrying bag can take some wear and tear, so you can take the Osoeri tent everywhere.

This Beach Canopy’s Size and Weight

When the large tent is set up, it is 10 feet by 10 feet wide, while the XL tent is 13 feet by 20 feet. Under the tent, it is 6 ½ feet, but you’ll have to duck to get under it because the lowest sections are about 5 feet.

Your family and friends will love the large beach shade, and when the party is over, they’ll be shocked to see how small and light the carrying bag is. The large Osoeri beach tent weighs a measly 8 lbs, and the XL size weighs 13 lbs. Carrying this tent bag in one hand is effortless.

However, if you are looking for a lighter, smaller beach canopy, consider the QIPI Beach Cabana. It weighs 2 lbs and fits 3-4 beach chairs underneeth

Behind the Beach Canopy Set-Up

Okay, Osoeri advertises a 5-minute setup, even with one person. Yes, this is true once you have the sandbags filled up. However, the 8 sandbags take about 15 minutes to fill up yourself (they are huge). Plus, Osoeri recommends also burying them, but I couldn’t bear to go through that process.

Once the sandbags are filled, easily twist the rubber knob of the pole into the fabric and then secure the bungee cord. Once you have all the poles tied to the canopy, lift them and stab them into the sand/grass one at a time. Once all the poles are up, adjust the sandbags and grass pegs as you see fit.

Where this tent lacks in set-up time, it makes up for in tear-down. One person can take down this tent in under two minutes. The best performance aspect of the Osoeri is that it fits back into its carrying bag with zero effort.

This canopy’s performance is very similar to that of the Sun Ninja Beach Tent. If you want a smaller version of the Osoeri Beach Tent, Sun Ninja offers a 4-sandbag beach tent.

Osoeri Beach Canopy’s Value Examined

Overall, the Osoeri Beach canopy is well worth its over $100 price tag if you want quality materials, ample shade coverage, ease of tear-down, and unbeatable carrying convenience.

However, even though one person can set this tent up, filling the 8 sandbags takes a lot of work. So, if you value ease of setup without labor, the Shibumi Shade takes no hard work. Or for a more affordable price the Neso Sunshade only has 4 sandbags to fill with its smaller beach canopy size.

What We Think After Testing this Beach Canopy

We tested the Osoeri beach canopy in Santa Cruz, California, on a windy day. Overall, this is a good tent for large parties in open outdoor spaces. A few things stood out about what we liked about this tent. But a couple of things rose to the surface that we didn’t like.

The cool stuff: One person was able to set it up. It’s really big, and putting it away took 2 minutes without effort. You can also DIY this tent by using only two poles, so one side blocks the wind. And, of course, it provides a lot of shade with UV resistance.

The stuff that wasn’t as cool: It took one person about 20 minutes to fill the extra-large sandbags and set it up. Additionally, it wasn’t as tall as I thought. Also, it’s not ideal for crowded places.
