First Impressions

The first thing we loved about the Eccosophy Microfiber Beach Towel was the vibrant, 2-sided, colorful design and the cute little cinch bag with a matching pattern it came in. While it’s made of pretty thin fabric, it doesn’t have the thick pile that picks up sand and dry grass so we were excited to try this one out on the beach and test its sand resistance. The material feels buttery smooth, almost like a lens cloth or even some yoga pants.

We loved to see the little snap hanging loop, strategically located in the middle of the long side of the towel. Since the towel is so large, it’s nice that they put the loop in a spot where the towel is less likely to drag on the ground, so you can clip it right on your bag or backpack while it air-dries on the go.

Material

The Eccosophy Microfiber material surpasses expectations with its thin yet noticeably high-quality fabric. We wouldn’t necessarily describe these towels as soft, moreso that they are buttery smooth. They have a very similar texture to lens cloths or maybe even some yoga pants on the market, with an almost rubbery feel between your fingers. The small fibers used in their construction create a smooth and gentle surface that feels great on the skin, and works well on the beach.

The microfiber material looks and feels great, but it is also extremely practical. The fabric is great for fast drying, odor resistance, and sand resistance, and is generally very high performing and durable. The quality of design and construction on this towel is tangible, every stitch is snug and right where it’s supposed to be. We expect these to last for plenty of summers to come.

Size & Weight

The Eccosophy Microfiber Beach Towel is one of the largest on our list, measuring 71” x 35”, but still weighs in pretty light at just 14oz. To have a towel this large that is, by design, a travel towel, is a selling point in and of itself. Weighing just 14oz and packing down smaller than a Hydro Flask, this towel is big enough to cover an entire yoga mat, host a picnic for two, or protect even the tallest bodies from hot sand on the beach.

Performance

One of the standout qualities of Eccosophy Microfiber Beach Towel is its absorbency, holding 3x its weight in moisture. The microfiber fabric is designed to quickly wick away moisture from your body, allowing you to dry off efficiently. These towels also dry very fast, making them ideal for frequent use or for those on the go.

The Eccosophy towels are also a great option for the yoga studio. The fabric is perfectly thin and has a bit of a grip to it, which enhances ground feel and ultimately improves your balance. The towel is large enough in size to fully cover most yoga mats, so it’s sure to keep your practice slip-free – it may be worth tossing in your bag for the next Bikram class.

These towels are remarkably durable, especially considering their thin design, light weight and affordable price point. They are designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor adventures, whether it’s being tossed in beach bags, laid on sandy surfaces, or exposed to the sun and saltwater. These towels are built to last, maintaining their vibrant colors, shape, and softness even after repeated use and washes.

Amazon customer reviews claimed these towels are not very sand resistant despite their marketing points. In our testing, sand sticks a bit to the material when it’s wet, but even then, ringing out the towel if necessary and a good shake takes care of any residual sand. Their sand and odor resistance will keep your beach bag, and your car, feeling and smelling fresh.

Value

The Eccosophy Microfiber Beach Towels are surprisingly high performing for being so affordable. For just $28 on Amazon, you get a large, highly absorbent, quick drying, sand and odor resistant towel that comes in a cute little matching carrying case.

While the RainLeaf Microfiber towels are a pretty comparable product at a lower price point, the price difference is marginal, and we didn’t find those towels to be as absorbent. We think the Eccosophy towels are a high value pick and would say it’s money well spent.
