What’s Special about this Indoor Waterpark
Near Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the Wilderness at the Smokies has the largest indoor waterpark in Tennessee, the Wild Water Dome. You can enjoy splashing and sliding all year round in this 91,000sq-ft waterpark, which has 17 water slides and nine pools. Some of the not-to-be-missed thrill rides are the Storm Chaser and Runaway Canyon. Storm Chaser is a four-person ride that plummets 55 feet down a tunnel before a zero gravity fall into an oscillating funnel that splashes into the pool. Runaway Canyon is a 5-story raft ride that takes you through 450 feet of waterfalls and tunnels, along with several twists and turns.
But there’s more! Coming in the fall of 2023 is a 40,000sq-ft expansion of Wild Water Dome. A lazy river with an immersive LED tunnel experience and a three-story water coaster that will premier the world’s first slide with Reverse AquaLucent effects will be added. The exciting new addition will also include a rooftop pool with a glass edge giving guests a great view of the Smoky Mountains.
In addition to the thrill rides, Wild Water Dome has a multi-leveled water play feature with a couple of slides and tons of water features and tipping buckets, a water basketball area, and a shallow activity pool for toddlers in your family. And when you get hungry, bring the gang to Grizzly’s Grill for pizza, burgers, and chicken tenders, rounding out what can be a perfect day at Wild Water Dome Indoor Waterpark.
