Viva Fortuna Beach by Wyndham

What’s Special About This Resort

Families will like Viva Fortuna Beach by Wyndham for all kinds of reasons. For one, it’s just minutes from the airport in Freeport on the island of Grand Bahama, which itself is less than an hour’s flight from Florida. For two, there’s a fantastic kids club, activities program, and entertainment schedule. And three, the price point is very fair, which is always welcome by parents!

That’s not to mention the large swimming pool, beautiful Caribbean Sea beach, and on-site dive center, plus easy access to the attractions and dining on Grand Bahama.

Viva by Wyndham resorts always offer a 24-hour all-inclusive experience, and the Fortuna Beach property is no exception. Guests will have all dining, snacking, and drinking free of charge, as well as games, sports, theater productions, theme nights, a kids club, and much more.

What to Do

Kids and adults will all be very entertained at Viva Fortuna Beach. There’s a long, wide, white-sand beach and the sparkling Caribbean Sea just steps from all rooms, and activities like kayaking and snorkeling are free and easy. There’s also a large swimming pool, plus a special one for kids.

At the kids club, parents can get a break with professional childcare, while children will make friends from all over the world and have a ton of fun. There’s pickleball, a trapeze course, beach games, and even paintball. The game room and other indoor activities are available if the weather is rainy or if the kids have had enough sun.

Parents and couples, on the other hand, can enjoy spa treatments, yoga courses, and a gym during their time alone. The on-site dive center can take care of certification courses or guided dives to the many beautiful reef sites around Grand Bahama.

Don’t miss a tour through Lucayan National Park, just east of the resort, where you’ll find a stunning system of caves, trails, and wildlife. In the evenings, the whole family can come together for theme nights, theater performances, and parties.

What to Eat & Drink

Viva Fortuna Beach has one main buffet restaurant and three specialty dinner restaurants, along with a snack bar. All of them are included with room rates at no extra charge.

Junkanoo is the all-day dining outlet that serves global cuisine in an expansive buffet. The large, airy dining room doesn’t require reservations, and you can expect familiar favorites along with interesting new things to try here.

While enjoying the pool, beach, and other resort amenities, guests can grab a quick bite from the snack bar at any time; it’s located just steps from the outdoor area near the shore. At dinner, guests have three additional specialty options, all à-la-carte style and requiring reservations.

Hacienda Don Diego is a Mexican-style spot in a sleek indoor dining room. Viva Café is also an upscale indoor spot for global fusion dishes. Viva La Pizza has outdoor dining and offers Italian fare, specializing in pizza and pasta dishes.

Room Guide

There are 276 rooms at Viva Fortuna Beach, with no suites or specialty accommodations available. Therefore, it’s just a question of garden or ocean view and king or queen beds. Connecting rooms and cribs are available for families.

Superior Rooms: The most budget-friendly options are these garden-view guest rooms, offering simple decorations but accommodation that is more than comfortable. They are available with one king or two queen beds, and they can accommodate up to four guests.

Superior Ocean View Rooms: The only upgrades available are these sea-view guest rooms, which are quite similar in size to their garden-view counterparts but slightly different in decor. They also offer one king or two queen beds and can accommodate up to four guests.

Special Experiences

One of the best special experiences at Viva Fortuna Beach is found in the wild eastern part of Grand Bahama in Lucayan National Park. It has one of the largest underwater cave systems in the world, which is a paradise for cavern divers. Boardwalks connect mangrove swamps, pine forests, and cave entrances for visitors to explore above the surface as well.

Back at the resort, be sure to take advantage of some of the unique entertainment options, including a trapeze course and paintball facility. Check with the concierge to see what kind of evening theme nights and parties are being held during your stay as well.

Couples celebrating a romantic occasion can have help arranging events like vow renewals or even full weddings at this resort as well. It can be as small as the two of you plus an officiant or as large as a 500-person party.
