What To Do
There is so much to do at Dorado Beach that it is entirely possible to have an amazing Puerto Rico vacation without leaving the 50-acre hotel grounds. That is, of course, if you can afford it.
This resort is packed with unique and personally tailored activities and amenities, all of which have a strong emphasis on the lush and historically rich property. There are three restaurants to enjoy, as well as food and wine demonstrations and classes. The Botanico spa offers further tranquility with its hidden spa rooms and serene relaxation pool.
There is a lovely 1.1-mile trail you can walk, bike, or ride a golf cart down. Or, if you prefer a gym to get your exercise, you can hit the incredible fitness center.
This resort features two elegant pools as well as a tastefully designed waterpark. No matter what type of pool-goer you are, you can find the perfect vibe. In addition to lounging and swimming, there are several water activities you can enjoy throughout the resort, including several boat trips.
What To Eat & Drink
There are numerous dining options at The Dorado Beach. For wine lovers, look no further than La Cava in Coa restaurant. With 3,200 bottles in its wine cellars, it has one of the largest wine lists in the entire Caribbean.
There is also excellent Japanese cuisine at Omakase Bar. This establishment offers authentic Japanese-style Omakase sushi and other dishes with two evening seatings. Every Wednesday Omakase Bar has a special Izakaya experience instead of its traditional menu.
The most unique dining option at Dorado Beach is the Culinary Center. This is a dining concept that is modeled after a residential kitchen and is the backdrop for wine dinners, intimate private meals, cooking classes, and other demonstrations.
Room Guide
There are no bad (or cheap) rooms at the Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. The rooms are elegant, with stunning ocean and lush vegetation views through the grand floor-to-ceiling windows. When booking a stay at The Dorado Beach, you can choose from three main room categories – villas, suites, And ocean view rooms.
Ocean View Rooms: The first room type is the ocean view room. These rooms typically include one king bed (with the option of upgrading to two king beds). Each room has a king-sized sofa bed as well.
All the rooms are a minimum of 600 square feet, and all come with satellite TV, evening turndown service, room service, and 24-hour grocery service.
You can opt for a room with a plunge pool on the lower level or one with a sweeping view and a balcony in a second-floor room. You can also choose which beach you want a view of – East Beach or West Beach.
Suites: For those looking for more space, luxury, and elegance, you can opt for a suite at Dorado Beach. When selecting a suite you can opt for a ground-level suite with a plunge pool, or a second-level suite with a superior view.
The main benefit of a suite is space. They are a minimum of 1,200 square feet, and all come with a separate living space with a privacy screen. This is a great room option for couples who like a bit of space and multiple rooms.
Villas: For those looking to experience the ultimate luxury Puerto Rico has to offer, you can opt to stay in a grand and immaculate villa. There are various-sized villas, including a grand five-bedroom villa, four-bedroom and three-bedroom penthouses, and more.
