What to Do
Adventures abound at Skytop Lodge all four seasons. You can hike, play paddle tennis, intro to shotgun, rifle shooting, wobble trap, rock climbing, axe throwing, get archery lessons, and swim in the indoor pool, kiddie pool, and hot tub. In the fall, you can spend your days playing paintball, Arrow Tag, lawn bowling, kayaking, biking, paddle tennis, boating, and fishing. Winter fun includes downhill skiing, snow tubing, ice fishing, snowshoeing, tobogganing, and ice skating. Springtime brings fun times with golf, lawn bowling, enjoying an informative walk led by a Naturalist to see over 175 species of birds and wildlife, and trying a challenging adventure course in the trees. During the summer, you can swim in the heated outdoor pool, play tennis, relax on the sandy shores of the Skytop Lake beach, take a tour of the Butterfly House, and play on their outdoor floating trampoline waterpark.
The Skytop History tour is a fun way to see more of the resort and hear about how this area was important. One of the stops on the tour is the Skytop observation post, where you can get a sweeping view of the resort and the surrounding landscape. This piece of important American history was once used in World War II as an observation post to spot enemy aircraft.
Additional services for you to enjoy include afternoon tea & cookies, seasonal arts & crafts classes, daily hayrides, a kid’s playground, a 24-hour fitness room, putting green, and a business center for those who can’t escape work.
What to Eat & Drink
Six dining establishments exist at Skytop Lodge, Windsor, Lake View, The Taproom, Corner Roast, The Market, and the Library Lounge. The Windsor is the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner, with delicious farm-to-table cuisine from the resort’s garden and local farmers and ranchers. The food is so good that locals frequent the Windsor with the guests.
Dinner reservations are required for Windsor and Lakeview. There is also a resort casual dress code for Windsor, where diners are asked to wear dark denim or dress shorts; jackets and ties are optional. Children over the age of 12 must adhere to the dress code as well. While the parents dine on Chilean Seabass or an Angus Beef Filet, kids’ meals are more typical, like hot dogs and fries with ice cream for dessert.
The other dining options for guests include stopping at the Corner Roast lobby for coffee and pastries and swinging into the Market, where you can indulge in a chocolate milkshake. The Taproom offers guests a low-key vibe for casual eating options, such as the Smokehouse burger with Root Beer Bbq Sauce and a Cajun Fried Chicken Sandwich. Lakeview offers diners Mediterranean and Italian cuisine dishes like Five Cheese Tortellini Alla Vodka and Pan Seared Duck Breast. After dinner, head to the Library Lounge to sit and unwind by the fireplace and sip on a craft cocktail.
