What’s Special About This Resort
Fiji isn’t exactly known as a budget-friendly place, especially when it comes to the beautiful resorts around the Mamanuca Islands. And while the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island is not going to be in the price range of backpackers, the value you get for the prices you pay here is amazing. Tokoriki is a tiny and remote island in the north of the Mamanucas, and the Sheraton shares it with just one other resort, making it secluded and dreamy. Guests can expect the high-quality consistency of the Sheraton brand and may even be able to splurge on a premium room with a private plunge pool. Half of the resort is family-friendly, while the other half is an adults-only paradise.
The Sheraton Tokoriki Island Resort & Spa offers both full-board and all-inclusive packages for guests who desire them. This can be an especially great value, as the resort’s restaurants can add a lot to your bill. All-inclusive includes breakfast, a two-course lunch, and either a buffet or three-course dinner. Select soft drinks, beers, wines, and spirits are unlimited for most of the day, as are non-motorized water sports.

What to Do
Visitors to the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island can choose between tropical relaxation, watersports adventures, or both. Those interested in option one have a beachside infinity pool and a white-sand seaside lined with sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as the Tokoriki Retreat Spa, the biggest in the Mamanuca Islands.
You don’t need to swim far to find vibrant reef life ripe for exploring via snorkel, paddleboard, or kayak. Jet skis and sailboats are other ways to zip across the ridiculously blue surface. A short trek to Hidden Beach reveals an even more peaceful spot.
The resort is ready to arrange excursions to more remote reefs for divers, the best grounds for deep sea fishing, and other tiny but beautiful local islands. On land, families can have fun at the on-site mini golf course or play a round of tennis at the courts.
What to Eat & Drink
There are three restaurants at the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island, as well as one cultural dining experience that takes place on certain nights. Full-board and all-inclusive packages include meals at two of them, which can, of course, also be enjoyed by paying guests.
Breakfast is served at Waitui House, the resort’s main all-day dining outlet also serving lunch and dinner. However, dining package guests will have lunch at Sala Lounge & Pool Bar, a casual spot with excellent views and international favorite dishes.
Dining package guests will return to Waitui House for dinner, which may be a buffet or three-course menu, depending on the time of year. Whichever it is, you can expect more international flavors with locally sourced seafood and meats.
The other dinner option is Curcuma, which has a more elegant atmosphere and offers Indian-Fijian fusions. Two nights a week, Curcuma is closed, and the resort instead offers Tokoriki Coco Palms, a Lovo and Meke night – a Fijian cultural performance and dinner like a Hawaiian luau.
Room Guide
One of the best parts of staying at a Marriott-brand property is the quality and consistency of the accommodations, and that’s certainly the case at the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island. Plus, this high quality comes at a fair price. There are a number of varieties to choose from in terms of view, space, and luxury.
Island View, Ocean View, and Oceanfront: These standard guest rooms are all equipped with one king bed. The two ocean varieties are slightly larger than the garden variety and only differ in their closeness to the sea.
Two-Bedroom Family Rooms: This category is very attractive for families, as a second bedroom with two twin beds and a living room add plenty of space for everyone to stay together. These rooms are on their own side of the resort and all have island views.
Larger Plunge Pool Rooms: These rooms get a bit of extra indoor space, with a small couch and sitting area, but the real upgrade is outside. Available in both Island View and Oceanfront Varieties, your private terrace includes a plunge pool and lounging furniture.
Special Experiences
As mentioned above, guests can hike to Hidden Beach for a secluded spot to relax, as well as to higher points above the resort for some great views. But the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island’s location gives it unique access to a few places that are even more special.
Tokoriki Island is just a short boat ride away from the islands of Tavua, Yanuya, Monu, and Monuriki. While you may not recognize those names, you may recognize their beaches, as this is where the US television show Survivor is filmed! Monuriki was also where the Tom Hanks film Castaway was shot, so this is a famous little corner of Fiji.
While you definitely won’t be able to get close to any active filming, excursions like sunset cruises, snorkeling trips, and beach visits do visit these islands, which are cool to see. Monuriki is a popular day trip, as everyone wants to climb the Castaway peak and scream “Wilson!” Yanuya also has a small village, which can be visited on a guided tour.
Finally, be sure to take part in the Tokoriki Coco Palms Fijian dinner. You will enjoy lovo-style cuisine, meaning cooked in large quantities to be enjoyed by everyone, and meke dancing to traditional music.
