What to Do
Rocking Horse Ranch is known for its extensive list of activities included with your visit. Some families try to do everything on their vacation, while others go with the flow. However you want to spend your stay at the Rocking Horse Ranch, you can be sure to have endless amounts of fun.
You can keep the entire family occupied with outside activities during the summer. The most popular is the unlimited horseback riding, with over 500 acres of trails to explore. All skill levels are welcomed, from beginner pony riders to advanced riders. For those looking to keep their feet on the ground, there are horseshoeing demonstrations, daily horse parades, and even tractor-drawn wagon rides.
Other outdoor activities range from the adventurous, like rock climbing and mountain tubing, to the leisurely fun of mini-golf and shuffleboard. There is the Big Splash Indoor Waterpark and Boulder Bay Outdoor Pools and Waterslides for those who love water. But wait, there’s more; you can enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boats on their private lake. You can’t miss the Eldorado Hot Springs, with a constant 98 degrees year-round aquatic experience. Sit and soak with multiple therapy jets that can relax any parent.
Since the Rocking Horse Ranch is open all year, there are even more activities to do inside. If you need to wear the kids out, have them play a laser tag or bowling game, try their hand in the shooting gallery, or play games in the Lucky Horseshoe Arcade. And that is just a drop in the bucket of what you can find at the Rocking Horse Ranch.
What to Eat & Drink
The dining room is where you gather the whole family to eat buffet-style breakfasts and lunches with a massive salad bar and plenty of hot options. The tables are long and seat 10, so if your family is smaller, you will probably have to share with another family. Dinner is a rotating a-la-carte menu with appetizers, soups, salads, and delicious entrees like their signature Kansas City Strip Steak, Aspen Roasted Chicken, and Award Winning BBQ Spare Ribs.
For simpler fare, you can also find hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and flat-bread pizzas at the Chef’s Tasting. Other food options include the Coffee and Pastry Station, where you can enjoy fresh coffee, tea, cakes, and pastries anytime. You can even create special memories with a family hot chocolate night.
The Silverado Saloon is where you can experience nightly entertainment shows ranging from magic and comedy to juggling feats. Make sure to get some popcorn before the festivities begin. Bonfires with live music, dancing, and even a Wild West show are scheduled during the year. You can be assured that something is always happening at the Rocking Horse Ranch.

Special Experiences
Rocking Horse Ranch specializes in providing special family experiences while you are visiting. Togetherness is prevalent in every activity, which you can see and hear with all the smiles and laughter from the kids and parents. And especially more so at the Exotic Wildlife Exhibit, where your family can watch the antics of dwarf goats and miniature donkeys, participate in the reptile encounter, and see Zoey, the zebra, and Scottish Highland Cows (Hielan coo).
If you visit the Rocking Horse Ranch during the holidays, stick around for the big fireworks display. It is always wonderful to see little kids perched on their dad’s shoulders, watching the fireworks squealing with oohs and aahs when the colors burst overhead.
Even more special experiences can happen during select fall nights; check out Cosmic Night Mountain Tubing, where you can slide down with colorful LED lights surrounding you. Plus, during the winter, the Rocking Horse Ranch keeps the activities going with sledding, skiing, tubing, and ice skating. And, of course, the snow doesn’t stop the horses and those who want to ride the trails and enjoy the crisp white snow. So, your family can keep returning to Rocking Horse Ranch all year to experience all the adventures over and over.
