What’s Special About This Resort
Some couples want to guarantee a child-free, adults-only experience no matter the time of year – and that is totally fine! In that case, look to Namale the Fiji Islands Resort and Spa, one of the few resorts of this kind in the country. Located on Fiji’s second-largest island, Vanua Levu, the resort comprises over 500 lush acres just east of Savusavu village. Among that vast space are just 22 luxury bures and villas. With a hidden waterfall swimming hole, a large spa, beautiful swimming pools, and everything below the Koro Sea, this is another romantic, luxurious paradise.
Another benefit of Namale the Fiji Islands Resort and Spa is that all stays are all-inclusive. Room rates include buffet breakfast, rotating three-course lunches and dinners, and select alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Guests can also enjoy the spa’s hydrotherapy and a variety of land and water-based activities.

What to Do
Namale the Fiji really shines when it comes to fun and activities. While it doesn’t have the soft-sand beach that some visitors expect from Fiji, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the Koro Sea.
Paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkel equipment can be used to enjoy the water and view the vibrant reef from above. On the shore, tidepools filled with small animals, beautiful shells, and even blowholes provide plenty of entertainment on a coastal walk.
There are hundreds of acres of land to be explored as well on the many hiking trails throughout the resort’s jungle. One favorite even leads to a natural waterfall and pool below, where you can jump in or sit for a picnic.
If you find yourself in need of an indoor activity for a rainy day, a fun night, or a day spent out of the sun, this resort has some really unique activities. There’s an indoor basketball court, the island’s only bowling alley, and an extensive hydrotherapy area in the spa that doesn’t require payment to access.
What to Eat & Drink
Your meals and drinks at the two restaurants of Namale Resort & Spa are all included with your room rate. Room service and private candlelit dining aren’t excluded either for guests staying longer than a few nights.
Walu Restaurant is the casual poolside option, while Main Bure is a bit more elegant and romantic. Both have rotating menus based on what’s available and what the resort’s on-site farm produces in terms of fresh fruits and vegetables. Cuisines can vary, but most of them take on a Fijian-inspired twist.
Breakfast is an extensive buffet, while lunch and dinner are curated multi-course affairs that you can look forward to each day. With proper notice, the culinary team is happy to make sure guests with dietary restrictions can enjoy the same quality and freshness as everyone else.
Room Guide
Each of the 22 bures and villas at Namale Resort & Spa is unique, but there are a few different room categories that they are separated into. Each has a thatched roof, natural stone shower and vanities, and privacy and seclusion ensured.
Garden & Ocean Tropical Bures: These bungalows are made of beautiful wood and offer private terraces to enjoy the jungle or ocean views, plush robes, freshly baked cookies daily, and king-sized beds. Louver windows allow you to enjoy fresh air from the sitting area.
Honeymoon Bures: Along with all of the lovely amenities of a standard bure, the view from these is the best of both worlds, as they sit in lush jungle on volcanic cliffs above the sea. You can enjoy the view of the water and the greenery from the private plunge pool on the terrace. Special honeymoon and celebration packages add more romance to these special rooms.
Villas & Luxury Grand Villa: Four standard villas are anything but standard, as they offer massive living spaces plus either plunge pools or full-sized infinity pools. The Luxury Grand Villa goes a step further with a second bedroom, mini-waterfalls, and multiple pools.
Special Experiences
Namale the Fiji Resort & Spa is a very romantic place, and there are quite a few ways to “wow” your significant other if traveling for a special occasion. Consider requesting a private candlelit dinner to be set up beside the private waterfall or in a secluded spot by the sea – this is complimentary for stays of 7 nights or more.
You might also consider reserving some time at Veidomoni (Lover’s) Deck or Blowhole Deck, two spots unlike any other in Fiji. Heart-shaped hot tubs sit on the edge of the tidepools with perfect views of the spouting blowholes, and they can be reserved for your exclusive use.
One do-not-miss island activity is the Salt River Drift. Vanua Levu is home to the one-of-a-kind phenomenon of the Salt River, which changes direction with the tides, allowing adventurers to float down in life jackets toward Salt Lake while enjoying drinks! The buoyant and refreshing water with lush jungle scenery makes this an amazing retreat.
