What’s Special About This Resort
Miraval Austin is one of the few all-inclusive resorts in Texas, and while it undoubtedly belongs on our list, it was difficult to decide which of its wonderful attributes to classify it with – spectacular views, unparalleled wellness and spa, and relaxing atmosphere came to mind. In the end, we settled with “most luxurious,” and that pretty much captures it all. It’s set among 280 acres of forest above Lake Travis and offers infinity pools, horseback riding, hiking, culinary classes, and much more. Best of all, this is a Hyatt resort brand – earn and redeem points and benefit from any status you may have here!

What to Do
Miraval Austin is one of the best spa resorts in Texas, so above all, don’t miss the chance to indulge yourself. The Life in Balance Spa is in a secluded, quiet spot with its own serenity pool, steam room, sauna, variety of treatment settings, and an extensive menu. Massages, skin care, cosmetics, salon and nail care, and more are offered.
Guided hiking, yoga, meditation, and wellness lectures are available with the all-inclusive package and add to the wellness experience. The resort also has its own farm, where you can tour fields and pick vegetables, as well as resident bees that make honey. The ranch offers horseback riding and even an exciting challenge course.
While you may feel a million miles away from civilization, the shores of Lake Travis are less than a mile down the road – get out on the water with a boat or kayak, cast a line, or fly down a zipline. Downtown Austin and all its quirky attractions are about 30 minutes away, too.
What to Eat & Drink
It’s important to note that Miraval Austin makes culinary delights part of the experience, and guests are encouraged to take part in one of their workshops in the Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen, where you can not only enjoy fresh and flavorful dishes but learn from experts on how to make them.
Of course, you won’t want to make every meal on vacation, and that’s what The Hilltop Crossings Kitchen is for. This is the main restaurant where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served overlooking the lake. Fresh ingredients from the on-property farm are used to make local and international favorites.
In between spa treatments and activities, grab a smoothie or snack from The Nest, and stop here for a glass of wine after dark. The Discovery Café is the other option for a craft cocktail while you relax poolside.
Room Guide
There are just 117 rooms and suites at the Miraval Austin, spread among 13 different lodges connected by outdoor paths. There are five categories to choose from, distinguished by size.
Rooms: Each room has a view of the beautiful Texas nature at its doorstep, whether it be forest, the nature preserve, or the lake. Hill Country King Rooms offer upper-floor placement and an outdoor shower, while the slightly smaller Dream Catcher Queen Rooms offer the possibility of two queen beds. High-end bedding, bathroom amenities, and meditation accessories are all included.
Suites: These rooms offer extra space to those seeking the most luxurious accommodations available or who are traveling with friends and want a place to gather. Full living rooms and some of the best views in the resort are bonuses. Parlor Rooms are newly constructed with posh amenities, Grounding Suites offer ground-floor convenience and high-end décor, and the Austin Suite offers maximum roominess as well as multiple balconies for enjoying the views
Special Experiences
Miraval Austin’s spa and wellness facility, the Life in Balance Spa, is one of the best in Texas – take a look at the menu, and you’ll see why. Body scrubs with exotic elements and a variety of massages with techniques from around the world are great ways to make a stay here as special as possible. Ladies on a babymoon will find some of the best relaxation in Texas on their special mother-to-be menu.
Another special quality of this resort is its variety of on-site specialists – of a ton of things. Private consultations with specialists in spirituality, sound healing, exercise and nutrition, beekeeping, cooking, and more are all possible and represent some of the most significant ways this resort goes above and beyond.
When in Texas, do as the Texans do. Horseback riding, archery, and rock climbing are a few of the outdoor activities that make this state its own kind of paradise, and all can be done at the Miraval Austin.
If you book the Miraval Unlimited Package, your dining and drinking around the resort are included and unlimited – with the important exception of alcoholic beverages. Airport transportation, parking, yoga, hiking, fitness, and all gratuities are included as well. Above all, you get a $175 resort credit per night to be applied towards spa services, equine activities, culinary workshops, and more.
