What’s Special About This Resort
While enjoying a San Juan luxury resort is an easy and relaxing vacation, for those looking to see it all, a trip to some of Puerto Rico’s small and beautiful outer islands is a must. There is perhaps no better way to experience the charm and beauty outside of Puerto Rico’s main island than by staying on Vieques Island at Malecon House.
Vieques Island is growing in popularity among tourists, but it still maintains an authenticity. There are no giant resort skyscrapers like you find in San Juan, instead, the island has several elegant boutique hotels, like Malecon House.
At Malecon House, you can enjoy stylish guest rooms in a fantastic location, which is oceanfront and also steps from the vibrant boardwalk in Esperanza, one of the most charming villages in Puerto Rico, with beauty, restaurants, and nightlife abound.
The Malecon House on the island of Vieques offers a strategic oceanfront location, complimentary breakfast, and beach chairs, umbrellas, and coolers for its beach-going guests.

What To Do
The Malecon House provides an intimate boutique hotel experience. It offers a luxurious yet affordable sanctuary in a prime location so guests can have fun on and off the property. In the morning you can enjoy a fresh complimentary breakfast so you have the energy to enjoy the day on the island.
Next, you can either relax in the garden or by the pool or head out to the boardwalk to explore. The Malecon House is conveniently located on a boardwalk that reaches restaurants, beaches, boutiques, and starting points for boat and island tours.
After you have explored for the day, unwind on the rooftop and enjoy the sunset, or cool off and unwind in the pool.
What To Eat & Drink
The Malecon House does not have an on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner service but does provide a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast, according to reviews, is usually simple but good, and exactly what you need to get your day started, including a nice cup of Puerto Rican coffee.
For lunch and dinner, however, guests are on their own. The good news is this intimate boutique hotel might feel remote but it is close to everything in Esperanza, including five restaurant options in close walking distance.

Special Experiences
Malecon House is close to some of the best beaches in Puerto Rico. The hotel offers complimentary beach chairs, towels, and coolers for beach-goers, and can assist with arranging any island-hopping adventure to Culebra, home of the famous Flamenco Beach.
But you don’t need to leave the island or go far to experience magnificent beaches and incredible water experiences. Sun Bay Beach is a gorgeous beach that is a short drive from Esperanza, and Black Sand Beach is also close, and one of the most unique yet beautiful beaches in all of Puerto Rico.
The ultimate special experience you can enjoy while staying at the Malecon House is a night paddling trip at Bioluminescence Bay. Located just a few miles from the Malecon House is one of the best places on the planet to witness bioluminescence, a natural phenomenon when microscopic organisms light up the water and turn it a glowing blue at night. This is one of the top natural excursions in Puerto Rico, and a very easy activity to enjoy if you stay at Malecon House.
