Like its name suggests Long Beach on the island of Kadavu, Fiji’s fourth-largest island, is the longest stretch of beach in all of Fiji. This beach stretches on for more than a mile, which considering many of Fiji’s islands aren’t even a mile long, is pretty impressive. In addition to its length and soft sand, Long Beach has beautiful and inviting blue waters.
Since this beach is so long, it is naturally quite easy to find a long section of beach and enjoy it all to yourself. There are a few resorts in Kadavu, but the long stretch of beach is surprisingly free of the beachfront resorts you might expect. This makes for the ultimate beach day, as long as you pack accordingly.
Things we like:
-
This is the biggest beach in Fiji, and it feels quite remote
-
It is easy to find a great parcel of beach and have it all to yourself
-
The Island has some great snorkeling, and few resorts, leaving it unspoiled
Things we don't like:
-
If you aren’t a diver or secluded beach lover, there are better islands for you
-
There are limited luxury accommodations on this island
-
Nearby Taveuni often gets more praise as it has waterfalls in addition to beaches
