What’s Special About This Resort
Once again, choosing the best resort in Florida for families isn’t an easy task, but the Legoland Florida Resort complex is pretty awesome.
It’s not just one resort, but three: the main Legoland Florida Hotel, the Legoland Pirate Island Hotel, and the Legoland Beach Retreat. Each of them offers separate, super-fun sleeping areas for kids in the rooms, as well as all kinds of themed games and activities around the resort.
Guests can bundle their access to the Legoland Florida Theme Park, Water Park, and the Peppa Pig Theme Park. The parks are either directly accessible from your resort or within a quick, free shuttle ride away. Some of the fun includes Lego architecture everywhere, Lego-themed activities, swimming pools, playgrounds, and all kinds of entertainment.
The Legoland Florida Resort has offered all-inclusive packages that include breakfast and dinner at your hotel and lunch in the park, but these do not seem to be available all the time. However, you can book a package that includes breakfast and park admission.

➞ What to Do
You’ll be amazed at the attention to detail around the Legoland Florida Resort, with millions of the bricks and other accessories coming together to make an entire Lego world. You can admire the exhibitions, have fun on rides, and build things yourself at the main park and splash in the wave pool and on the waterslides of the waterpark. The Peppa Pig Theme Park is a bit different, bringing one of your favorite TV characters to life.
At the main Legoland Florida Hotel, which offers direct access to the park, you can enjoy a heated outdoor pool with floating Lego bricks and a mini-golf course. There are also Lego-building workshops, nightly entertainment, and even disco-themed elevator rides to your floor.
Legoland Pirate Island Hotel is right next door and also offers direct park access. Here, everything is a pirate ship adventure, with daily treasure hunts directly in your room. Before bed, take the kids to the nightly pajama dance party.
Finally, the Legoland Beach Retreat is just across the street from the main part of the resort complex, but you can reach the parks via a quick free shuttle ride. This hotel offers a network of individual bungalows constructed with Lego architecture. It has its own lagoon-style pool and sits on a large lake, giving it a relaxed and beachy vibe that also has all the fun of Legoland.
➞ What to Eat & Drink
Between the three hotels of the Legoland Florida Resort, there are five restaurants. Each has its own main dining outlet that serves a themed family-style breakfast and dinner. There are two additional lunch and dinner options, plus more lunch in the parks.
Bricks Family Restaurant is in the main Legoland Florida Hotel and lays out a large kid-friendly buffet every morning and evening with all kinds of American and international favorites.
Shipwreck Restaurant does something similar at the Pirate Island Hotel, only with a pirate theme and with a play area in the restaurant. Sandy’s Castle is the equivalent across the street at the Beach Retreat; the menu consists of more Latin American fare, and there’s another play area here.
The lunch and dinner alternative at the main resort is Skyline Lounge, where an à-la-carte menu and full bar are available all day. At the Beach Retreat, there’s Bricks Beach Bar, which offers walk-up to-go food and drinks to bring to your bungalow; the kids’ mocktails are especially popular here.
➞ Room Guide
Each of the three Legoland Florida Resort properties has kid-centric rooms that go far beyond the fun of any other cookie-cutter hotel. You can expect extras such as separate, themed bunk-bed sleeping areas for kids and in-room Legos. The particular hotel you choose will determine much about your accommodations, though, so that’s how we’ll break it down.
Legoland Florida Hotel: This resort has the most variety of rooms and suites. The fun of these is that there are many different themes, including Ninja, Adventure, Pirate, Kingdom, and even more Lego worlds. All of them sleep up to five and offer Lego bricks to play with plus a king bed for the adults.
Legoland Pirate Island Hotel: There’s less variety of themes here, as all rooms are all about pirates, but more options in terms of space and view. You can select a Lake View room instead of just the standard for a little upgrade. Up to five can stay in most rooms, while up to seven can stay in two-bedroom suites.
Legoland Beach Retreat: Last but not least, there’s just one room type at the Beach Retreat. The Bungalows here are all Lego-beach-themed and constructed with Lego architecture. You also have the luxury of an outdoor patio here. Up to five guests can stay in the Beach Retreat units.
➞ Special Experiences
There’s more to do at the Legoland Florida Resort, even beyond the bricks. For example, the resorts sit on Lakes Eloise and Summit, among the Winter Haven “Chain of Lakes.” The resort offers pontoon boat rides for sightseeing before park opening and after closing, and your guide will point out Florida wildlife and local landmarks along the way.
Legoland also offers VIP experiences that ensure your visit is as magical as can be. The Red, Silver, and Gold Brick Experiences get you things like behind-the-scenes tours, dedicated seating at shows, photo packages, priority line access, and much more. This is the way to go if you don’t want anything less than the best for your family.
