What’s Special About This Resort
It wasn’t easy to choose the most luxurious all-inclusive in the Bahamas, but Fowl Cay Resort comes out on top, thanks to unmatched privileges that go along with the stunning private island atmosphere. There are just six villas, ranging from one to three bedrooms, on the nearly 50-acre Fowl Cay, which itself is a quick boat or seaplane ride away from the nearest inhabited cay.
That leaves plenty of secluded space to explore the private beaches and unspoiled nature of the island, but some of the best spots are found offshore on nearby beaches and sandbars. Luckily, every villa comes with its own powerboat to explore as you please, along with a golf cart for island paths. It doesn’t get any more exclusive than this.
Fowl Cay Resort makes sure that you don’t need to carry around a credit card during your stay. All meals and drinks, including premium alcohol, are included with your stay – at the restaurant, stocked in your villa’s kitchen, and packed in a cooler for picnic lunches. Water toys, a golf cart, and a power boat with unlimited fuel are free as well, as is your airport transfer to the resort.

What to Do
Nature lovers, beach bums, and adventurers have the ultimate playground at Fowl Cay Resort. Let’s first acknowledge the awesome inclusion of having your own powerboat to explore the Exuma Islands surrounding Fowl Cay. At 17 to 18 feet in length, with unlimited free fuel, included picnic lunch, and a sunshade, the possibilities are endless.
Take some of the free professional sport fishing gear to see what you can hook – bring your catch back to the resort, and the chef will even cook it up for dinner! Or, simply drop the anchor when you find a deserted sand bar or shore to relax on for the day with some snorkel gear. There’s even a swimming pig island, which is a real sight to see.
Water toys available to take from the resort include double kayaks, Hobie Cats, and stand-up paddleboards. They also have wakeboards, kneeboards, and water skis. Snorkel gear in all sizes, including for the smallest swimmers, is also available.
Each villa also has its own beautiful outdoor space to enjoy the island views for those who don’t need so much adventure. And with only five other guest groups to share the island with, at the most, there will never be a battle for beach and pool space.
What to Eat & Drink
There’s just one restaurant at Fowl Cay Resort, but no one should be disappointed. Hill House Restaurant serves all the meals and drinks included with your room rate. Breakfast is delivered to your villa and includes a selection of fresh fruits and pastries, while your villa’s kitchen is also stocked with more food and replenished daily.
The dining room opens for lunch for those who would like to order the fresh seafood dishes the chef has crafted for the day, along with creative twists on cuisines from around the world. Alternatively, lunch can be packed away for a picnic on your boat or on the beach. Cocktails and drinks are available 24 hours per day.
Cocktail hour precedes dinner at the restaurant, where guests can mingle with the few other groups sharing the resort. Outside guests from neighboring cays are also welcome for dinner, adding to the mix.
The menu will include more specially crafted plates from the chef that incorporate the fresh catches and imports of that day. Alternatively, Hill House is happy to serve your dinner in your villa.
Room Guide
With just six villas on the island, it’s not hard to choose a room at Fowl Cay Resort. They range in size from one to three bedrooms, providing appropriate options for couples, families, and groups. All are oceanfront, equipped with kitchens stocked daily, and complete with a powerboat and golf cart, so it’s really mostly about size.
One-Bedroom (Lindon) Villa: There’s only one one-bedroom, one-bathroom villa, so book it in advance if you’re a couple that doesn’t need extra bedrooms. This romantic plantation villa is classic but modern and sits on a low ridge above a beach with breezy views.
Two-Bedroom Villas: There are three of these two-bedroom, two-bathroom villas, all located in a row at the island’s highest ridge. That makes for some beautiful panoramic views of the harbor and shallows in between the cays. They are uniquely designed as octagonal in shape and treehouse-style.
Three-Bedroom Villas: The two largest villas are in secluded spots near North Beach and offer three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Large families or groups will have the ideal spot for stargazing on the very large patio decks.
Special Experiences
Simply staying at Fowl Cay Resort is a special experience. Arriving over the azure Exuma waters, whether by seaplane or boat, will immediately show you ocean landscapes that you probably never thought were possible. But that’s only the beginning!
Take your private boat to the most remote corners of this cay network to find spots that are romantic, family-friendly, or otherwise awesome. Wherever you end up, it’s sure to be memorable. Many guests like to make these spots the setting for special gestures like marriage proposals, private picnics, or celebrations.
One spot not to miss is the swimming pig beach, where you can mingle with the friendly four-legged locals – both kids and adults get a kick out of this. Cast a line to try to reel in dinner, as everything you need to fish is included, and the chef is happy to cook up your catch. Or, try something new from the tow line of your boat, thanks to free equipment for wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and waterskiing.
