What’s Special About This Resort
If you want the luxury of an all-inclusive vacation but don’t have the budget that many of these resorts command, Breezes Resort Bahamas is an excellent solution. It’s located less than 15 minutes from the Nassau International Airport, where most international flights arrive, on a sun-soaked beach just outside the capital city.
This, plus the expansive pool area, five restaurants, and simple but comfortable rooms, combine for a fantastic value compared to the rates you’ll pay. Another quick 15-minute taxi ride can take you to all the fun of Paradise Island, such as Atlantis Park and Cabbage Beach.
All stays at Breezes Resort Bahamas are all-inclusive. All meals and drinks, plus most activities like kayaking and racquetball, are totally free, with no tipping allowed.
Things we like:
-
Good price point while maintaining quality of rooms, pool and beach experience, and dining
-
Convenient location between the airport and downtown Nassau/Paradise Island, on a great beach
-
On request, private candlelit dinners are available at an affordable price
-
Next door to a waterpark and other high-end resorts (in case you want to dine out)
Things we don't like:
-
Younger adults can’t check in during spring break months; minimum check-in age is increased for these
-
Families with children under 14 are not permitted at all (could be a positive for some travelers)
What to Do
Breezes Resort Bahamas is located on the main island of the Bahamas, but just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Nassau. It’s located on the beautiful white-sand beach of Goodman Bay, one of the best on the island. Snorkeling is possible directly from shore, and kayaks are free, while jet ski rentals are available just down the shore.
The pool area is very large. There’s a volleyball net in the water and a swim-up bar for grabbing drinks. Along with sun loungers, guests can pick one of the hammocks spread around the property as their spot for the day.
A racquet center with complimentary equipment and a resort gym are available for more active guests, while the Blue Mahoe Seaside Spa provides a place to relax. You can also go next door to the Baha Bay Water Park for more ways to cool off.
Don’t miss the chance to explore the cultural and historical sites of Nassau, like the pink government buildings and local Bahamian cuisine. The famous Atlantis Resort and Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island are just a quick ride away, too, as are boat excursions to remote, scenic cays.
What to Eat & Drink
Breezes Resort Bahamas has an all-day dining restaurant called Banana Boat that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet style. There is no particular cuisine theme, and you’ll find familiar dishes from all over the world here. Sometimes, this is the only restaurant open for dinner.
The quicker and more casual lunch option is the Reggae Café Beach Grill, which serves burgers, fries, and local favorites by the beach. There’s also Sip n Dip Pool Bar for swim-up drinks.
Three specialty à-la-carte dinner restaurants are available, but they rotate opening on different nights. Martino’s serves traditional Italian, Eden & Garden of Eden has a romantic atmosphere, and Munasan does Asian fusion.
Guests can enjoy the Pelican Piano Bar with its live pianist most nights of the week until late at night, while the Disco Bar keeps the party going until the early hours.
Room Guide
There are 391 rooms at Breezes Resort Bahamas, some of which have direct ocean views. Most are the same size, except for the two suite categories, with a few different view options. Importantly, the balconies at this resort are very tiny and not ideal for outdoor relaxation – go for a ground-floor patio room if that’s important to you.
Classic, Partial Ocean View, and Ocean Front Rooms: These standard rooms can be configured with one king-sized or two double beds. Classic rooms face the gardens and resort, Partial Ocean View rooms are on either the east or west-facing sides of the building, and Ocean Front rooms look directly at the beach and sea. Note that the balconies are very small and don’t leave space to sit.
Patio Rooms: Ground floor rooms may face the gardens, the pool, or the beach. They are the same size as the above, but the outdoor patio has a table and chairs, making it possible to relax in the fresh air. Like the above categories, decor and furnishings may not be extravagant, but they are more than comfortable for a budget-friendly stay.
One-Bedroom Oceanfront & Presidential Suites: There are two suite types for guests who want extra space. One-Bedroom Oceanfront Suites have a separate living room and classic furniture, plus direct ocean views. The Presidential Suite is even larger, with a big dining table and panoramic sea views.
Special Experiences
Like some other high-end hotels, Breezes Resort Bahamas offers the possibility of a private dinner on the beach for couples that want a romantic evening together under the stars. And like the room rates, the extra charge for this service is affordable, making a custom-crafted menu within reach of budget-watchers who want a special experience.
The Blue Mahoe Seaside Spa is a great addition to any relaxing trip; its large selection of treatments is unique and island-inspired. There are couples massages, athlete massages, anti-aging facials, and more.
There are many small cays within a quick boat ride of Nassau that are awesome for couples, families, and friends alike. Hop on a shuttle boat to the Blue Lagoon, which has an adults-only area, or to Athol Island with its swimming pigs beach.
