When you are planning a trip to Fiji, the odds are you picture yourself on a secluded island, walking a stunning stretch of beach along unreal blue water. Lucky for you, this place actually exists in Fiji, and it is located on Nacula Island in the Yasawa Island chain. Blue Lagoon, and Nacula Island, is an absolutely perfect desert island escape for those looking for privacy, luxury, and natural splendor all in one small Pacific island.
Nacula Island is one of the larger islands in the Yasawa chain, six miles long and two miles wide. This allows for tons of exploring, and ample opportunities to find yourself alone on a heavenly slice of sand. There are great snorkeling, SUP boarding, and other water activity opportunities on this island. Best of all, this island has resort options, but they aren’t ultra-exclusive like many of the Yasawa islands. With no paved roads, street lights, or stores, this is the perfect place to spend a few nights and feel like you have escaped to the secluded island of your dreams.
Things we like:
-
Incredible water and beach on this large Yasawa Island
-
Less expensive than ultra-luxury places like Turtle Island, but equally as enchanting
-
Great water activities like paddling and snorkeling
Things we don't like:
-
While secluded, there is still a resort on the island.
-
With no grocery stores, you are stuck purchasing a meal plan at a resort
-
Not ideal for those who easily get island fever
