Keeping with MSR’s tradition of making simple, serviceable, and affordable outdoor equipment the DromLite Bag is the most versatile option on this list. You can set it up as a reservoir for a gravity filter, confidently lash it to a raft or the outside of your pack to haul water for camp, or use it for your own hydration needs. The only thing that we don’t like about the DromLite is that you need to buy a conversion kit (essentially just the hose) to use it as a hydration pack.
The DromLite is also the only model in this review available in a size larger than 3L. In this case, available all the way up to a massive 6L reservoir, able to provide water for you and everyone you’re sharing camp with. Despite the large carry capacity the DromLite is super packable and offers comparable compactness with any other bladder in this review.
We’d encourage any multisport enthusiast to take a look at the DromLite. It fits well into the minimalist mentality as far as hydration reservoirs are concerned.
