Where to buy Deuter 2L Streamer:
Amazon
The Streamer is a robust and versatile reservoir, but it lacks the polish that we see in our top models. In a similar vein to the Platypus Hoser above, the Streamer is simple and easy to use. Our 2L version was compatible with all of the packs we tested it with, and we’re confident that it will work with smaller vests and running packs if not filled all of the way.
It’s also packable- its roll top closure and removable hose make for quite the convenient storage option- you can roll it and stuff it in the bottom of your pack as a backup water storage container. We also appreciate the fold top opening, it makes for easier on-the-go water collection, particularly when paired with the handle on the back.
Unfortunately, we noticed issues with some components that felt flimsy compared to the thick plastic of the bladder itself. It seems as if Deuter had a perfectly serviceable product but then threw some last minute, low quality, sparkle on to keep up with the rest of the pack. They don’t need it, and we feel that their users would be better served by a little more focus on the details or doing away with half-baked features entirely.
Things we like:
-
Strong and simple reservoir
-
Easy to clean and scoop water from shallow sources
Things we don't like:
-
The features feel underwhelming compared to the reservoir itself
