The Hikelite is a great compromise between a minimalist bag and a more supportive daypack. It differs from the competition in its category by including a more robust and fleshed-out frame than nearly any other bag. Putting a full Osprey frame on this kind of pack is a unique design choice- to be sure.

Recommended with Reservations
Our only reservation with this bag is the carry capacity. Despite us praising the impressive feat of framing a lightweight pack like this, said frame offers much more in the way of comfort than it does support. Don’t expect to be able to overload your bag free of consequence.
We’d recommend the Hikelite 18 to anyone seeking a way to make your short day hikes even more comfortable. If you find yourself firing off quick out and backs on the weekends or after work- it might be the right choice for you.
