OCOOPA Beach Blanket Overview
The OCOOPA Beach Blanket is great for long beach days. It stakes down to the ground so it stays put with lots of activity and even with wind.
This beach blanket is lightweight but very large. It’s a thin beach blanket without any padding so make sure you are going somewhere with a soft ground when you use it.
Sand wipes off easily and the water-resistant fabric keeps you dry even when the sand is wet.
OCOOPA Beach Blanket Material
This beach blanket is made from polyester which has great water resistance. We were most impressed with how easily sand slides off of the OCOOPA Beach Blanket. The wide sand pockets were still pristine and bright after emptying them.
The fabric is a bit thicker than the nylon Wekapo Beach Blanket. This means it won’t easily billow to spread out quickly. But this is not necessarily a bad thing. Beaches can be very windy and this extra weight does help keep the OCOOPA Beach Blanket from not blowing too much, especially during setup or pack up when it’s not staked.
OCOOPA Beach Blanket Features
The OCOOPA Beach Blanket is a simple parachute-style beach blanket. It is thin, lightweight, and packs up small, but has a large footprint when opened up.
To keep this light, thin beach blanket in place you anchor it down with the included plastic stakes and the loops in each of the blanket’s corners. Even with just pushing the stakes into the sand without a mallet the blanket stayed in place with people walking all over it, getting up and down from it, and the wind picking up.
Reason Not to Buy the OCOOPA Beach Blanket
At its price point and with its ease of use we don’t see any reason not to buy the OCOOPA Beach Blanket if you want a parachute-style beach blanket. But there are a few things to mention for those looking for the finer details.
When we first examined this beach blanket after it arrived we did notice some irregularities with the stitching. The quality is not as refined as we see with the WETCAT Turkish Beach Blanket.
The OCOOPA Beach Blanket comes with a storage pouch with a snap to keep it close at hand on the beach. Because of the thicker polyester of this beach blanket, it cannot be stuffed into the sack, which is a quick easy way to pack up – especially with a thin fabric in wind.
This beach blanket has to be folded up to fit back into the storage bag. This is one of the reasons the Wekapo Beach Blanket ranks higher on our list. In the wind, with its size, it is a bit fiddly. The fabric is lightweight enough that even if when folded up it is a bit bigger than the bag, the extra can be stuffed in.
Do We Recommend the OCOOPA Beach Blanket?
Yes, the OCOOPA is not only a great budget beach blanket but generally a great polyester, water-resistant, lightweight, large beach blanket.
Opened up it has enough room to fit your whole family while packed up it fits into a compact storage bag. Sand slides off and the polyester is very water-resistant – good for cleaning up spills, drying quickly, and keeping you dry on wet sand.
It is thin with no padding. If you will be going somewhere without soft sand or grass, maybe consider the Little Unicorn Picnic & Beach Blanket.
