The Little Unicorn Picnic & Beach Blanket really has all the elements of a comfortable, easy-to-use beach and picnic blanket.

It folds up neatly and has a shoulder strap for easy transport to and from the beach. With a bit of padding, it adds a softer landing space for relaxing. And the other fabrics work well for easy mess clean up, water resistance, and – most important – keeping the sand off.

This picnic blanket is made out of polyester. It has 3 different layers – a bottom water-resistant layer, the middle padded layer, and the upper layer with bright designs that sand and other messes wipe off easily.

The 3-layers are heavy enough that the Little Unicorn Beach Blanket stays put on the sand. Even with gusts of wind, it did not budge. The corners and edges stayed flat on the sand.

We learned the hard way that dark-colored polyester does get hot under the sun, so if you want to use it at the beach we recommend getting a lighter-colored beach blanket.

For the most part, the Little Unicorn Beach Blanket is just a simple blanket. Other than its great combination of fabrics to make it stay put in the wind and make it sand and mess-resistant, the main feature is its convenient carrying.

The weight of this beach blanket makes it easy to fold up. It fastens shut with a strong velcro attachment. There is a good-sized zippered, water-resistant pocket, in case you don’t want to bring another bag. And then our favorite feature, a shoulder strap to carry it easily.

Reasons Not to Buy the Little Unicorn Beach Blanket

The Little Unicorn Beach Blanket is slightly heavier and bulkier than thinner beach blankets like the Wekapo Beach Blanket. But if you like padding then it is our favorite option.

While the top layer of the Little Unicorn Beach Blanket cleaned off effortlessly with a shake, the bottom layer held on to dust. And the soft Velcro also trapped a lot of sand. This was a stark contrast from the OCOOPA Beach Blanket which had all sand and dust slide off.

Do We Recommend the Little Unicorn Beach Blanket?

Yes! We really loved this picnic and beach blanket. With its high-quality construction, we feel its mid-range price is very fair.

When we first unpacked it we were worried that s was bulkier and and heavier than beach blankets like the WETCAT Turish Beach Blanket. But once we had it set out on the beach we loved the extra padding and how the extra weight kept it stable in gusts of wind.

With its shoulder strap and zippered pocket, you can head to the beach with just this blanket and your sunscreen.
