Best on a Budget
Where to buy TideWe Men’s Heated 3-in-1:
TideWe Men’s Heated 3-in-1
Tidewe Mens Heated 3 In 1 Product Image

The TideWe Men’s 3-in-1 Heated Jacket ranges from $95 to $120 and includes a multi-port battery; charger; and a midweight, heated coat that can be divided into a weatherproof, lightweight windbreaker/rain jacket; or a stylish, insulated puffer.

For style and comfort, the 3-in-1 gives you options. Each of the jacket’s layers has pockets in front for your hands and each is wearable on its own, depending on the time of year. While the outer shell is more utilitarian, the puffer looks slick for any occasion. It won’t be as reliable in bad weather, but its fleece insulation and silky interior lining are soft on the skin.

Not as heavy as the Ororo or Milwaukee, or quite as cozy as the Volt Cracow–but on a budget–the TideWe 3-in-1 is as good as any heated jacket out there.

The inner and outer layers attach with buttons at the sleeve cuffs and at the top of the collar, then zip together on both sides at the front opening. The YKK zippers–something many of these companies boast but that don’t always impress–are smooth.

The process of separating the two coats, or making them one again, is never “quick.” But it isn’t complicated, either.

TideWe’s technology is also built to impress. Though the coverage of its heat pads at the chest and upper back doesn’t stand out–they heat quickly, under a minute.

The heat control knob is located on the chest of the puffer, and glows a red (hot), white (medium), and blue (low)–making each heat setting easy to interpret. Opening the outer shell to adjust the heat setting is annoying in the rain, but done tactfully–perhaps under the outer jacket’s waterproof, detachable hood–you shouldn’t end up very wet.

The battery has fantastic adaptability–with backup ports for everything. It can be a bit confusing at first. But ultimately, these features are a good thing. There are two USB-A outputs–one for the jacket, and one to charge extra devices. To charge it, there are two power inputs–one USB-C, and one Micro-USB. If any one of these ports were to fail, each has a back-up ready. This multi-port system can also be really convenient if you need to buy charging cords on a whim.
