An Eco-Friendly Waterproof Bag

If you’re an environmentalist and try to do your part to save the planet you are going to love this bag. There are no noticeable compromises. In fact, comfort and capacity demonstrate a premium product.

Red finally has an eco-friendly backpack made with CYCLEPET fabric. It’s created by melting plastic bottles down into pellets and then turning them into yarn that gets woven into the robust, waterproof material that doesn’t at all look recycled.

Combining CYCLEPET material with the roll-top closure makes this backpack completely waterproof. Allowing you to go on any adventure your heart desires without worrying about your belongings getting wet. The large front pocket offers easy-access to items you’re more often going to want to get at while providing protection in the form of fully-seamed zippers.

They also added a bunch of new and forward-thinking designs we love. From a removable padded laptop organizer to the roll-top closure or the fact that you can add bike light to your bag it just keeps getting better.

This backpack has a 30L internal capacity and external water storage space. This allows you to get the most out of your bag without wasting internal space on large items like a water bottle.

We experienced only one drawback of this bag. The chest strap fell off a few times when the tension was too intense. The weak point is at the sliding clip that attaches to the shoulder strap. But it doesn’t detract from the positives and it won’t prevent us from using this backpack while paddle boarding, skiing or hiking.

Design

The roll-top design on the Red Original Eco-Friendly backpack paired with durable material makes it completely waterproof. The roll-top closure also ensures that you get the maximum capacity out of your bag.

The back panel is reinforced with airflow foam that distributes the weight and the heat, keeping you cool and comfortable throughout your trip. The adjustable chest strap keeps the bag secured to your body to prevent it from moving around during runs or climbs up a mountain. If tightened excessively, though, the clip holding the strap will pop off the shoulder strap when jerked.

The design is simplistic and with neutral colors, it can easily be seen as a rugged backpack for the outdoors yet it’s sleek enough to use on a day trip or a day bag. What we also love about this bag is that the material works well during the night giving high visibility in low light conditions making it easy for cars and people to see you from afar.

Green and Waterproof Material

The Red Eco-friendly waterproof bag is made from CYCLEPET Fabric. They make use of old plastic bottles and break them down into pellets. These pellets are melted down and spun into a fiber that is used to make a woven fabric. We love this forward-thinking method that Red has started and hope other brands follow along. By using this fabric they decrease their carbon footprint without sacrificing the quality, durability, and weight of this backpack.

Capacity

This backpack comes with multiple storage options to keep you organized throughout your whole trip. In front of the bag, you have a large water-resistant pocket. This is great to use for all the go-to items that you need quick access to. The fact that it is water-resistant also gives you peace of mind to store electronics like your phone or a camera without the fear of it getting water damage.

The sides of the pack feature two bottle pockets that save you internal space and again give you fast access. Inside you will find a hidden compartment for valuables like wallets or passports that you want to keep safe yet separate from the rest of your belongings.

Internally you have 30L capacity as well as a detachable internal padded organizer that attaches very firmly against the back panel, hiding the secret compartment. It fits a 15″ laptop and includes a zipper pouch as well as pockets for pens, etc.

Red Eco Friendly Waterproof Worn On Water

The Red Eco-Friendly waterproof backpack comes with a lot of features we love. The use of recycled fabric definitely gets a thumbs up from us while the roll-top makes this bag ideal to use during water sports including SUP. Whilst ideal for SUP it can also be used for walking, hiking, or running thanks to its comfortable straps back panel, and adjustable sternum strap. At the time of writing this, it is being used for commuting by bike, having the capacity and protection from torrential rains that is really sweet.

We were pleasantly surprised with the Red Paddle Co’s waterproof backpack. The fit of the bag is very comfortable and allows you to move freely without the bag moving around too much. It also distributes the weight and heat of your back and shoulders making the experience you have during your trip that much better.

The external water bottle pockets fit a water bottle and insulated travel cup perfectly. Internally you have a removable padded pouch for your laptop and a hidden compartment for phone keys and wallets. Overall you have a lot of space to pack everything you need without worrying about water damage.

Red has a proof of concept demonstrating that a sustainable product can compete and win against less environmentally friendly products.
