Outoria is your home base for finding outdoor gear, travel essentials, and everyday stuff that actually works.

Gregory Facet 55 Backpack Woman Hiking Trail

We’re the kind of people who like gear that earns its keep—on the trail, in the airport, or just during a regular day. If something makes your trip smoother, your hike more comfortable, or your daily carry simpler—we’re into it.

Every guide, review, and recommendation you see here is written and tested by people who’ve used the gear in the real world. No vague specs. No buzzwords. Just honest, practical insight from folks who’ve carried this stuff through airports, up mountains, and across countries.

We built Outoria because we believe good gear can make your life easier—whether you’re out in the wild or just out running errands.

What We Cover

We keep things simple—and useful. Here’s what you’ll find on Outoria:

  • Outdoor Gear: Hiking boots, backpacks, sleeping gear, outerwear, and tools that can take a beating.
  • Travel Gear: Luggage that rolls well, organizers that actually organize, and tech that doesn’t die halfway through your trip.
  • Everyday Carry: Water bottles, packs, and lightweight jackets that work just as well on a trail as they do in town.
  • Adventure Guides: Destination ideas, packing checklists, and tested tips to help you travel smarter and enjoy the journey.

Our Promise

We only recommend gear we’ve tested and believe in. If we wouldn’t use it ourselves, we won’t tell you to. Simple as that.

Outoria Com Rainy Season

Meet the founders

Outoria was created by the same folks behind DIVEIN.com, where we’ve spent over a decade testing dive gear and watersports equipment for millions of readers around the world.

Now, we’re taking that same hands-on approach and applying it to the rest of life—on land.

We’re a team of gear nerds, writers, travelers, and outdoor lovers who believe that good content (like good gear) should be built to last.

Nicolai And Torben Outoria

Meet our team

Torben Lonne Outoria
Torben Lonne
Co-Founder | Gear Tester | Content Creator

I’m Torben—co-founder of Outoria and the guy who puts most of the gear through its paces before we ever recommend it.

If you’ve seen one of our deep-dive reviews or YouTube videos, there’s a good chance I was the one hiking with that backpack, sleeping in that tent, or figuring out if that water bottle really doesn’t leak.

Before Outoria, I helped build DIVEIN.com into one of the biggest diving and watersports magazines online. Now I get to take that same testing approach to gear that’s not just for underwater—but for everyday life and travel, too.

I care about making sure our reviews are clear, honest, and based on real use. No fluff, no tech jargon. Just useful info from someone who actually used the gear—and probably got rained on while doing it.

When I’m not writing or filming, you’ll probably find me hiking with my family, planning the next trip, or nerding out over something with zippers and compartments.

Let’s be honest—life’s just better with the right gear.

Nicolai Editor Author Outoria
Nicolai Lonne
Co-Founder | Strategy & Systems | Outdoor Dad

Nicolai’s the guy who keeps things running behind the scenes—and often in the wild. A former Boy Scout leader and father of two boys, he’s spent more than his fair share of weekends under the stars, cooking over campfires, and figuring out how to pack smart (and light) when heading out with kids in tow.

He brings that same practical mindset to Outoria—making sure the content we publish is not just well-organized, but built on real-world use. If it’s gear you’d trust for your own family or a trip into the woods, Nicolai’s probably had a hand in testing it, tweaking it, or making sure it makes sense.

When he’s not deep in spreadsheets or campsite logistics, you’ll find him outdoors—usually with his kids, always with a plan.

Rebecca Strauss
Editor at Outoria.com

Rebecca has been an avid traveler and scuba diver for many years. She began her editorial career by updating travel guides, which took her all over the United States and Caribbean. From there, she did a stint as a managing editor at a Caribbean travel magazine. That, in turn, led her to take the plunge—quite literally—and focus her editorial and writing skills on scuba diving travel and gear exclusively.

She’s worked in both print and online scuba media since 2012, and in that capacity has visited all seven continents—and dived on six of them. From speedy drift dives in Indonesia to leisurely muck dives in Florida, to shark dives in the Galapagos, her favorite dive is always her next.
